uBitX: Ordered Feb 19, received Apr 1
Hello everyone, uBitx ordered 19 February, mail from PayPal 12 April, and delivery 16 April. Now I can finish my pilot project with touch screen LCD and Arduino mega. Thank you for the work of Ian KD8CEC which inspired me a lot. I will put online code as soon as it will be operational, I still have some routines to develop further, including the management of an SD card.

Hi Tom,
Thanks (especially for the pictures)? I don't see an interface, are going directly from the mike/headphone jacks to the laptop audio jacks? Dale, W9ESE |
bitx 40 usb mod for wspr
#bitx40help
Hi, I am using a qrp labs vfo as vfo and bfo.It does not decode wspr.Is it because I am getting a sideband inversion by using vfo at 19mhz? I have tried setting vfo hi and low but still no decodes.Should I leave vfo at 5mhz and try adjusting bfo? I know there are filter shape issues but at this stage I would just like to see a decode.Any thoughts ?73s Colin G8LDJ

That sure sounds like an oscillation getting into the audio. It doesn't no there is no voltage regulator all power supplies are in parallel and powered by a stabilized power supply 12 v 5A grazie |

good morning?Rod Davis?
? and thanks for the answers
I attach the photo of the interior. For the volume potentiometer I tried with a shielded cable but nothing has changed!
Power is supplied by a stabilized 12v 5A power supply
Everything is assembled in a box that does not contain any mass

Re: Extension cables for display/Raduino
I extended my BITX40 DDS using female to female jumpers.? I later reduced the wire count using the schematic shows what's needed for the display connections hope this helps WA9DOH On Sun, Apr 15, 2018 at 10:32 PM, w2ttt <w2ttt@...> wrote:

Re: Extension cables for display/Raduino
You can use similar pugs and sockets and wire them yourself according to the length you require. Regards Lawrence On Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 5:32 AM, w2ttt <w2ttt@...> wrote:

Gordon? Use standard DuPont cables.? They come in 10cm, 20cm and 30cm lengths x 40 wires joined together with rainbow (actually resistor colour code) wires.? Mike ZL1AXG On Mon, 16 Apr 2018 at 3:32 PM, w2ttt <w2ttt@...> wrote:

Re: Ubitx sticks on transmit
开云体育Well the last picture in each row tells the story… that is the coil.? It appears to have 0 Volts on receive and 11.38 Volts on transmit so the voltages are all ok.? It then does appear you have a faulty relay.? Others have reported faulty relays in that position too.?? Just replace it.? There’s nothing special about that relay… just replace it with one that has the same form, contact rating, and coil voltage.? You should not pay more than about $1 for one. ? ? Dr. William J. 5 mm volume control shaft
Cross-fertilisation of ideas between hobbies...
I'm assembling a uBITX, and I find that one item has a 5mm shaft rather than the usual 1/4 inch. This means that none of my spare knobs will fit. HOWEVER, a waking inspiration suggested a very short length of 1/4 inch OD copper pipe, as used in model steam engines, could be used to 'sleeve down' a 1/4 inch bore knob. And it does!. I turned down the copper tube in the lathe, using a file just to ease the fit, or it could be mounted in a power drill chuck for the same process. It only needs a skim. My tubing was 0.210 inches bore, which is just over 5 mm (5.18) Geoff, G8BMI |
Re: KB1OIQ: uBITX for visually impaired ham radio operators
Hi Justin: It didn't occur to me to use morse code for the feedback, and also, not everybody knows morse code.? That said, not everybody understands English either. :-)
I agree that it would be easy to implement.? I chose a different path for no particular reason except that I thought it would be cool. 73, Andy KB1OIQ |
Re: uBITX woes, feeling disheartened.

Hi all,
Since time is short for me, I went ahead and ordered and just received a new board. This new one appears to work.?? So, for anyone who wants the original board with all hardware (received with the new board) and a couple extra relays, message me with a reasonable offer please.? It receives but does not currently fully function as described in these posts.? -- Dave Beal AE6RQ |
Re: KB1OIQ: uBITX for visually impaired ham radio operators
It could be easily, and I'd welcome such a feedback mechanism. However, of course this wouldn't be useful to those who don't know morse. This would be a pretty inexpensive optionas well, and I'm pretty sure (though not entirely sure) it could be implemented fairly easily. I'd love to see it myself; my KX3 has the morse readout enabled at about 35 wpm...same with the KRC2-ACC on my K2/100. But when you bring up the morse option in a group of blind hams, you'll get some who applaud the effort, and a bunch more that ask why it doesn't talk. Proving once again you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Re: uBITX - Aligning the master clock
You could try the Religious station on 7.335MHz they are strong at night but you may find you uBITX is very close out of the box, that is unless you already tried to calibrate it. Then just reload the software and that should bring things back to default.
