how to reach Farhan about a new radio board
I have had request from some local hams to see if a 2meter qrp 5/10 w ssb board could be designed based on farhans design ?
with and without digital vfo option?

ubitx encoder hookup breadboard.
I was disappointed to see the light duty encoder that came with ubitx.?
I couldn't see the connection points as being solid enough to offer reliability.?
My solution was to attach the encoder to a fiberglass perf board and solder the leads to the board.?

This is a worldwide event for BITX40 stations starting at 7pm in each time zone. To participate, call CQ BITX on Sunday, starting at?3PM and/or 7PM?your local time. The BITX QSO Night continues through the evening and conditions usually improve after sunset, so it is worthwhile to participate later in the evening.
Suggested Best Operating Practices:
Work at QRP power levels unless conditions require more power.
Call and listen for CQ BITX on the hour and every quarter hour.
It is helpful if you call CQ BITX with your callsign, name and location.?
Repeat your callsign a number of times during your CQ BITX and during QSO's.
Start a QSO by confirming the callsign, location, name and signal report of the other operator.
Say the callsign, name and location of the other operator so others can hear.
If the frequency is busy, avoid long conversations.
After your initial QSO is complete, ask if there are any other stations who would like to contact.
Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread.
This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls on Sunday evening.? Talk to you then!

i just measured the spacing up and drilled the holes to suit. I have a drill though with a digital readout so its relatively easy to do. Thanks for the idea though.

See how the two boxes are not square?
If you put the tabs 180 degrees facing away from each other the two boxes will square up tight to each other, and the plugs will line up perfectly.
That¡¯s if those are similar to mine, and they do look like it.?
I have thought about a thin acrylic of some sort with just enough thickness and cut a small oval or rectangle in the metal case to accommodate the insulated jacks. ?
Right now mine are just taped together, and I have strain relief on the radio side. ?

Hi ordered my ubitx on 15th February and received shipping notice yesterday look forward to delivery now shipped via India post.The only thing that I found dissapointing is that people who ordered their ubitx after me were being shipped before me .?

Perhaps we can mount a rectangular? insulating piece over which we can mount these jacks. For example Pratap (vu2pop) from Bangalore, India, made a small biscuit pcb mouting it on bottom of the enclosre. the jacks are soldered (pcb type) on to it. and the front panel has silghtly larger drills that insulate the mic and speaker jacks.
He has ready enclosures for ubitx, i suppose.

Get y our chassie ready. I planned for plastic kit boxes. Bought 2 different sizes. My kit arrived and once i printed the 12 pages i found out it is reccomended to use metal. I went with an RCI-2950 Case. Plenty of room for radio and air flow.

The KD8CEC v1.061 firmware has completely cured my straight key problem, which was very much like yours. I had had to stop using my favourite straight key but can use it again now. There was an occasional residual problem with the v1.01 firmware, but v1.061 has resolved that for me.
For improved CW operation the only change I have felt worth making with v1.061 is to edit the Menu sequence in the ubitx_menu.ino file so that RIT is the first menu item

I find this makes CW operation much easier: tapping the menu button twice toggles RIT with little need to use the encoder beyond tuning (it is even easier if you parallel a separate push-button switch across the encoder switch so that there is no risk of inadvertently rotating the encoder when selecting a menu item).
NB if, like me, you will be running the Arduino IDE under Linux in order to upgrade the firmware, you will need to change the line in the ubitx_cpp file that reads #include <Arduino.h> to read #include <arduino.h>? or the sketch will produce a compile error.

Al,
The KD8CEC firmware fixes many issues, and it
will likely fix your keyer woes.
It does not require a hardware change, and if you do not like
it, it is easy to go back to factory firmware.
