I don't object to a lot of posts about when things ship. But an alternative would be for Mike to put a note next to that shipping status on the ubitx.net home page stating folks should email him when they learn about a rig getting shipped rather than posting to the forum.
I rather like photos of dogs, gives everyone permission to give priority to function over form on the first pass.? Best to get these things going quick in an ugly manner, get a feel for where the controls and connectors should be, think about optional hacks. Only then start cutting holes in the $30 extruded aluminum box that took a month to arrive.

Just out of curiosity, what are they going to do for antennas?? Do you modify the software so they can only transmit on frequencies legal in their license class and/or location?? I'm not trying to play hall monitor I am genuinely curious.

Very cool to have done that, congrats! Perhaps once officialdom there sees how these first few units play out, any future rigs will have clear sailing. Considering the impact of the 2017 hurricane season on some of the other islands,? they would do well to encourage ham radio in any way they can.?

If you happen to wire the pot up such that the wiper is either 5v or ground, then smoke will ensue when you turn the knob to one of the extremes That shorts 5v to ground through the extreme end of the pot element. Might well ruin the pot.
