Re: uBitx questions
hf signals is keeping the same price because they are able to manage within that price for now. if component prices go up, they might revise the prices. - f On Fri, Feb 9, 2018 at 10:49 AM, Dgyuro via Groups.Io <dgyuro@...> wrote:

uBitx questions
Bill Carpenter
I orderd mine on the 5th - it was $109.? I thought the price had gone up but maybe I'm lucky somehow.? Looks like I'm in for a long wait as I decided to just go with India Post because I have several other projects going on and waiting a wjile is OK.? Am I right thatI will get no notification of status until the rig actually ships?? ?And how long will I have to wait?? From what I can gather it's about 2 months before shipment and the a month in shipment.

W0EB/W2CTX new I2C software V2.00R Release#ubitx
This has been posted to the "Files" section but it is sometimes difficult to find there so just to make sure I'm re-uploading it here as an attachment.? This is a very comprehensive update - The I2C bus on the Raduino card is used to drive a small controller card that attaches to the LCD display and now those of you who were wanting the A3, A6 and A7 analog inputs back to use for "Meter" programming can have them.? Since using the I2C bus to control the display frees up the D8, D9, D10, D11, D12 and D13 digital I/O pins on the Arduino Nano, we have reprogrammed the CW Paddles, Hand Key, and even the SSB Push to Talk lines to digital I/O's.? We fount that, since you don't use PTT in CW and you normally don't use the Keys in SSB that one digital I/O input could serve as Hand Key/External Keyer AND SSB Push to talk depending on the mode selected in the menu.? We put the Keyer DOT on D8, Keyer DASH on D11 and the PTT/Hand Key/External Keyer input on D12.? We didn't use D13 because it's used to drive one of the LED's on the Arduino Nano and requires some extra trickery to use as an input.? We also added an extra push button switch tied to the D10 input.? This button toggles the A/B VFO's and if you press and hold it for a short period, it enters SPLIT mode.? All of this and the hardware modification instructions are contained in the PDF documentation included in the zip file.? Lots of photographs are included in the manual to assist the user with the modifications and operation of the software after the mods are finished and the software installed.? You must perform the modifications first as the software cannot be used with the standard, Raduino mounted display as those digital I/O lines are used for CW/PTT operation after they are freed up by the I2C mods.

Re: W0EB/W2CTX Latest uBITX software release
#ubitx
We have resolved the problem.? It WAS NOT a bug in our program, it was a misunderstanding of the way our new menu system works.? The PDF file containing the instructions goes into detail on the new system complete with photo's to illustrate the operation.
Again, there is NO BUG in the software. W0EB |

AGC kits
It has come to my attention after the fact that the AGC kits I sold a few weeks back do not match the schem with the parts placement. I am very sorry about the mix up, If memory serves you should still have all the right values to match the schem. Taking the 100k from the input and adding just after the .1uf cap after the 2n3904, use the 10k on the input. ?If anyone has any questions or needs parts please e-mail me directly, I will ship any parts missing or needed free of charge to help make up for the mistake. ?Again sorry about the mix up this was my 1st run of any type of kit and have learned a few lessons to say the least. dherron at live dot com ?N8DAH |

Re: Audio in speakers during Tx - RFI
开云体育As most OLD OLD Hams know, there was a LOT of problems caused on Phone Land lines back then by us Vermin's. It was RFI. As a kid and youngster the Neighbors Never Believed that I should even be running my Ham radio. If they would let me, I would take the cover off the phone lines coming into their houses, and put Disk Caps on the lines. I went every way, line to line, and lines to box ground.?? That usually fixed the problems.? I think the caps were about a dime? Way later, I? ferrite
beads became available.? Thats what I did to my phone when I
started running big power. The good ol' days, everyone has to get there someday! 73's Mike, WA6ISP On 2/8/2018 9:45 AM, Mvs Sarma wrote:

Re: Audio in speakers during Tx
Perhaps we need to have a sep[erate power wired from the building input thro a metal conduit and provicde an additional emi filter for that right at the load point.. Obviously the equipment ground would be connected to that . ?? Perhaps these are general precautions even the manufacturer prescribes.? Regards MVS Sarma ? Re: Are you looking for a case for your Bitx?
Vince Vielhaber
You're searching wrong. Do a search sorted by lowest price + shipping first. I'm watching a box with built in power and 15 BNC connectors, is 8.7x9.4x1.7H and is less that $20 after you add in shipping. There are others in the similar price range.

Yeah, I saw Mike's post and checked that. And it does provide a good source of shoes!

Anyone looking at these for cases, I recommend you go to their website so you can get the dimensions on the enclosure. Those distribution amps look like the perfect size (according to the ebay pic), only to find out it's only a 1.7x4x3 box! There are some that are a good size tho and the price is what you'd be paying for just a box. Some of the boxes only have a hole in the front for an LED so you have a nice front panel to work with. A couple I'd seen even came with a 12V 3A power supply!!! BONUS! Vince. On 02/08/2018 02:41 AM, Dr Fred Hambrecht wrote:
