Re: QSSTV on Zbitx

The Sbitx 64-bit image uses my updated QSSTV Sbitx Edition.? You can try this on the zbitx.? No guarantees it will run on the zbitx. ?https://github.com/willardharris/QSSTV?

Re: Where is the line at for ZbitX's that are shipping.

There was a huge pileup of orders on the 1st and 2nd of April. We are clearing the orders in sequence for these dates currently. You should be getting a mail very soon with the tracking details. We request you to remain patient till then.

Re: zBitx Distribution upgrade

Charudatt,
up to now I used the old original image to upgrade the OS on zbitx.
Today I will start with an original image Rasbian OS Bullseye 32 Bit.
Just finished breakfast and started imagin.
New day new adventure (its raining outside).

P.S. today decoding stopped sometimes after 20 Minutes, when trying to restart via start.sh got segmentation faults.
I think I will start everything as clean as possible.

Re: zbitx handheld mic

Terry,

You can adapt any existing handheld microphone such as (with an electret microphone inside) for use with your zBitx.? Just follow the wiring schematic as mentioned in the . If you are looking for a portable hand held microphone, you can also consider 3d printed designs such as or

Re: Batteries on ZbitX

I put red plastic tape on the + ends of my batteries.

Re: Batteries on ZbitX

As long as they fit without damaging the holder.
It probably is a very tight fit.? I have used the batteries with the top on other projects but it took a while to find the correct holder.

Re: zBitx Distribution upgrade

Where from is start.sh called?
It is not /etc/rc.local?? => I commented it out and no change.
?
Where from reads SBITX the APP the time?
It starts every time with the UNIX-Time starting point in 1970....
ZBITX gets it from network or from the RTC.
WSJT-X from there, because it shows the correct time.
?
Before the upgrade the time on zBitx was correct and the sbitx app got after a short delay the correct time too.

Re: zBitx Distribution upgrade

Why not add the TZ=? command to the start.sh script and set yout timezone to TZ=Etc/GMT and see what happens.
While you're in there you can change the cd sbitx line to cd ~/sbitx because without the tilde you can only run the start.sh from pi's home directory.

the problem is different.
Still no correct time shown in the title of sbitx app on external monitor.
?
But - I made some tests:
?
I stopped the start.sh terminal => sbitx stopped automaticaly too.
The I opened a new terminal session typed sbitx/start.sh => sbitx starts => now I get decodes but the time info in Title of app is incorrect and therefor the time for logging qso's.
The time problem and decoding problem may be independent.
?
I rebooted the zbitx => no decodes
I removed power from zbitx => decodes Ok
?
I think there is a timing problem at startup too, depending of the status of the pico/display
I have to check the Software of the pico, what happens when rpi zero is off. What is the state of pico. What is he doing when loosing and regaining the connection to zbitx again?
thinking the pico should get reset when connection to rpi zero times out.
?

Can you list out the step with command of how you install zBITX on a fresh OS.

Thank you?

zBitx disassembling guide?

For sBitx v3 there is a nice disassembling guide:
Is there a similar documentation for zBitx?

Re: zBitx Distribution upgrade

There's another file you can check? /etc/profile which is a system wide profile.? It is checked first followed by the user dot profile.

Hello Gwen,
that was in the .profile at /home/pi and that line was commented out => same problem as when set to Europe/Vienna.
The problem is somewhere else because the time at the system and other apps is correct. Only sbitx app has problems.
Problem was introduced by OS upgrading.

Re: zBitx Distribution upgrade

The dot profile file will set the timezone to whatever the TZ line is overriding wht is set in the localizations in rasp-config.
So everytime pi logs in the timezone will change tto whatever is in that file? Either delete or comment out that TZ= line in the dot profile and you'll be good to go. Of course you could also change the timezone to whatever you want it? to be in the dot profile file.

Look in /home/pi/.profile?

Comment out the last line, TZ=

Wasn't there an issue with there being a static configuration file containing an incorrect, and programmatically NON EDITED time zone, back in the sBitX? I recall having to remove a line from a static text file configuration in order to get a dynamically-set time zone to get properly saved.

Sorry, due to my brain being liberally made of swiss cheese these days, that's the limit of my recollection regarding this file. It's in a place reasonable for config files to be, that's all I remember. I don't remember the name of the file, either, so someone might want to look through the config files for a static time zone that needs to be removed for the dynamically-set time zone to stick.
