Then I tried sending some letters from the keyboard. The very first dot or dash was never sent. So A became T, K became A, etc.?

The K3NG mod seems to fix the keyboard cw-problem.

Then I connected a paddle. There is a timing problem too with a paddle. A short press on the can result in a very short dit or dash. Again the polling frequency is the problem. (There is something called interrupts)

Then I switched to FT8.

First issue: there is no way to turn the volume down. The T41-SDT book placed over the speaker solved this :-)

In the FT8-demo video Ashar showed how easy a qso can be. But the current software does not work that way. I tried several times and when someone answered my CQ the next steps for a QSO didn't happen.

Then for calling CQ you have to press the CQ-button (F5) for every period instead of calling CQ several times and waiting for an answer.?

And one can solder to it too which is why I like it.

Re: sBitx: Maybe my expectations are too high #sBitx

In the video on youtube ( ) it all happens automagically. If multiple people is responding just select the first decoded.

I am using the latest from github.

It is the volume of the FT8 signal sent out from the sBitx. Where do I change the volume of that. The volume knob does not change it.

Re: DAYLIGHT RADIO - PLASTIC TOROID MASTER

Interesting question David.
Did a bit of research but couldn't find a satisfactory answer.
So it maybe a quirk of history, like driving on the left or the right side of roads. Brass screws are fairly common in the shipping industry. So I am guessing the early experimenters with radio were connected to ships in one way or another. So maybe they used readily available brass hardware to tune Oscillator coils.

I am going to look at timing more today.? I'm now experiencing?a screen update problem with buttons.? I don't know what is causing it, but my gut says it's the timing mod I did, though I saw the problem for the first time last night.

I honestly haven't had a QSO with the sBitx yet, but I don't think a paddle or straight key is usable with the stock code.? There's definitely a timing issue.

I may be able to work on a CQ repeat feature.

Brass is a low loss magnetic core. Unlike other ferrites and iron cores, it reduces the inductance instead of increasing it.

Re: sBitx Touchpad / Mouse Issue #sBitx

Scott,

If you're?using Linux, puting the command in .bashrc in your? home directory should work on?login. I'm using?Linux Mint, and it's called from my .profile file. The thing is, the command needs to be executed when the desktop is started.not on boot On Windows, which I haven't used for 20 years, you can put a batch (CMD) file in Autorun (Autostart?) to be executed on login.

Craig, why do you need a longer brass screw? The one in the picture looks long enough.

Have you wound any coils with the printed toroid forms yet? From the picture, looks like egg shell.:)
