开云体育Thanks to all the responders. I found a hardware problem...mmm The mini USB on the Raduino shows one pin bent back inside the casing. Tried to salvage it with a dentist pick.... No joy. Now I am salvaging a mini USB female plug from an old camera. Some SMD soldering is in my future. Otherwise a new Raduino... Re: Verifying errors with version 1.27.7
In the IDE you have selected Arduino Nano, of course, but are you sure you identified the correct COM port for the Raduino? Since nothing showed up indicating that it was that port on my system, I resorted to going to the System Hardware list, COM and LPT ports, and just seeing what showed up when I plugged the USB cable into the Raduino, then selected that port in the IDE program. I did my first upload maybe a week ago and had similar issues getting going, but it works great now!

Mic Preamp install, bias resistors

HI Group.
I am about to install an SSM2167 Pre-amp, Should I remove the bias resistor R60(4.7k) and then re-install post amp at say a 2.2k for the lower 5V the amp uses? IIRC, the SSM2167 Spec sheet? mentions a 2.2k bias resistor for electret mics... Thanks in advance. 73, Nick VK4PLN |
Re: Mica Cap replacements for WA2EBY Filter?
I used this paper.?? You print the image in reverse to scale on that stuff, iron it to the copper clad, and then soak in ferric chloride. Getting a good etching mask is where all the trickiness is. I think lots of iron pressure and heat really help. On Sat, Jan 20, 2018 at 8:03 AM, Jack Purdum via Groups.Io <jjpurdum@...> wrote:

Re: Bitx40 blown.
So, finally I did it - BITX40, diode D& blown (nice light and smoke) It is "off the shelf" radio - I made it few months ago - and now I take it to upgrade software etc.. Power on - and smoke. but raduino still works. so I disconnected power connectors from mainboard, rechceked polarity - all OK. Turn on - Raduino is OK. I dedoldered diode, reconnected power to mainboard - all OK. Just courious - what happened? ? MAc |

开云体育The issue with small speakers for communications use is that you want something quite different from HiFi speakers in several aspects. While I use headphones exclusively for operating, I do like to “read the mail” (listen) while working in the shop.? The key is proper frequency response, good absorption of sound off the back of the diaphragm to limit distortion caused be the reflections hitting the diaphragm, and proper strength magnet to control the voice coil movement. For our communications headphones we build a metal frame, Mylar cone driver with Neodymium magnet that provides high sensitivity but huge dynamic range, 200-6000Hz response to cut off noise that is of no value and quite fatiguing to listen to and the Mylar cone (diaphragm) is not disturbed by moisture and temperature changes to give excellent control over the voice coil positioning. I could make available to the community a kit with a 50mm, 32 Ohm driver, foam dampening and mounting hardware (3mm standoff’s, Screws, lock washers and nuts) 2 mounting points, if enough people are interested. I can make one and show how it could be installed. ?Output can be attenuated even as these are easy to drive and the uBITX has tons of output. Dave WI6R Google “radiosport headsets”? Mine is a 2watt rated ex-Yaesu VR5000 speaker. 8? 2w 3inch. Think you have to take into the baffle effect of the panel that its mounted behind, mine sounds good, saying that I did plug it into my Yaesu SP-8, decided that the 3inch speaker was far better. 开云体育Make sure the brand is mega watt and not the cheap Chinese knockoff. The cheap ones don’t have proper RF filtering and they use cheap fans.?The fan on my mega watt 26amp was noticeable too and I complained. They sent me a fan that was quieter, less cfm’s but it did the trick. And I’ve been using it with a 100W radio doing digital modes and it hardly works up a sweat.? Joe KD2NFC?
