300Km with a bicycle and my Bitx40
Julien NICOLAS
Hi,
Two months ago I did a small trip of 300km in French mountains with my bicycle, bitx40, a chromebook and my fishing pole. If you want to read more (ans see picts) : (Sorry, it's written in french, but you can use google translate) It's one aspect of the QRP fun ! Julien, F4HVX |

If this is a copy/paste, you have a curly bracket missing. It should look like this:

OK, see you tomorrow 03-04 UTC, I will call cq cw around 7032khz and after we can try SSB. Will send you mail tomorrow when I start or will spot on Cluster. Now I TX-ing WSRP to west... check conditions :) 73, Good Luck, CUL, Andy 9a3jh On Tuesday 06 June 2017 05:51 PM, Willy wrote:
Hi Andy, Thanks for reply.Lets try CW & SSB. SSB will be the real test. What frequency do your phased verticals like? I do not have my Moxon up and my inverted v is tuned for upper end of 40m (7.3MHz) but I can use it anywhere on 40. I will listen from 0300z to 0400z and watch my email or DXSUMMIT for your freq. Where would you like to operate? |
Re: Coils and caps
Craig,
The ceramic is used with the tuning pot. See the instructions at??? Step 3: Wire up the Raduino, connect the tuning pot --> solder the 0.1uF disc ceramic between the yellow and violet wires on the tuning pot. I'm still trying to figure out what the surface mount cap is for...please do let me know if you find out!? -Dan |

BITX QSO Night, Sunday, June 11, 7pm Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere
Join us as we make contacts from BITX40 to BITX40 on 7.277 MHz in 40 meters! To participate, call CQ BITX at 7pm sharp, your local time, on Sunday. Call off and on for about 15 minutes. It is helpful if you call CQ BITX with your name and location.? Repeat your call a number of times if conditions are weak. This is a worldwide event at 7pm in each time zone.? You may participate in any time zone, regardless of your location, so you may wish to call in at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm, your local time, to contact hams in adjacent time zones. Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread. This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls at 7pm on Sunday.? Talk to you then! |
Re: Dhl customs cost to the usa
In many countries there is an option to self-clear your packages.? Most of DHLs fee is a brokerage fee.? See this article for ways to convince DHL to allow you to self clear. ? On Jun 6, 2017 1:16 PM, "Vince Vielhaber" <vev@...> wrote:

VU2ESE Agc circuit
Hi,
Has any one built Ashhar's agc circuit and had it work? Seems it adds at least 10k ohms between the audio out and the speaker, if I add that much resistance I get no sound out of my speaker. Maybe I don't understand where it is placed. Also in the photo it seems the exciter and collector of the 2n2222 or 2n3904 are switched relative to the schematic. Any help appreciated. I have not tried VK3YE's yet, though it seems it would add at least 4.7k Thanks, Jerry AA1OF Sent from my iPad |

Re: Conflicting information

While not easy, you could use Vin on the Nano board to supply an external 7-20V to the Nano. Attached is a picture of a small board that does a little processing on the power before it goes to the Mega 2560 Vin. The red and black leads barely visible on the right come from the input PS source. I will likely run my B40 at 13.8V most of the time, as that's what my external PS is set at. The two yellow and black pins on the right side of the regulator pull that voltage off for the PA and (maybe) a fan. The yellow and black pins on the left go to the power connection on the TFT/VFO board. That board uses a buck converter to drop the voltage down to 7.6V, which goes to Vin of the Mega. The Mega provides the 3.3V and 5V needed by the rest of the board (i.e., the Ad9850 and the TFT display). A test with some suspect test equipment suggests the board draws about 25mA. There is no 12 volt connector on the Raduino processor. There is on the R3 or 2560. The information you supplied refers to them. The 328 is powered from the 5 volt regulator on the Raduino board OR the USB connection. No automatic selection exists on? the Raduino. ? v/r Fred W4JLE ? Let's see if I can help. The Arduino site says this.- Power The Arduino/Genuino Uno board can be powered via the USB connection or with an external power supply. The power source is selected automatically. External (non-USB) power can come either from an AC-to-DC adapter (wall-wart) or battery. The adapter can be connected by plugging a 2.1mm center-positive plug into the board's power jack. Leads from a battery can be inserted in the GND and Vin pin headers of the POWER connector. The board can operate on an external supply from 6 to 20 volts. If supplied with less than 7V, however, the 5V pin may supply less than five volts and the board may become unstable. If using more than 12V, the voltage regulator may overheat and damage the board. The recommended range is 7 to 12 volts. Automatically selected are the key words here. I had an UNO die because I plugged in the usb while it was already powered by DC jack.?This might have been a cheap chinese clone issue. I would advise against any DC power when connecting the Raduino for programming. The USB port has plenty of power for the Raduino.? |
