The only CAT problem I've ever had is with my neighbors cat demanding pets from me:), other than that I have never posted anything about CAT control, I don't use it., you must have me confused with someone else.

Re: Tariffs and zBitx Shipments

Eliminating de minimis will be a big nuisance, and will end up costing more than just the tariff does. In Europe they have to collect taxes from the recipient, and the fee that the big shipping companies charge to do that often costs more than the tax itself does. It also usually makes it impossible to get packages shipped to work rather than home, because the receiving department isn't prepared to pay for personal packages. Joel,
I remembered you had some kind of cat problem and I couldn't remember the solution. That's why I asked. ?
Joe,
the problem is with a fellow amateur, not with the settings. Cat doesn't work on zbitx. ?
Leo,
try the new uSD card, although I doubt that will fix it. I would delete the program and reinstall it. I don't remember if I updated it right away when I started with sbitx. I don't remember any cat errors, except for the ones caused by the settings.

I don't have a "desire" to only hear "what is", I was simply pointing out that we were talking about two different things - me discussing what is, you discussing what might be. Both are equally valid topics... While it can be fun to speculate what might be, the range of possibilities in regards to the current situation vis-a-vi international tariffs is so vast it almost seems fruitless to try and guess (please go on if you feel the need), but please don't use me as your foil - I don't disagree with you and your comments regarding me were close to condescending and there's no need for such here in this forum... at least not in my opinion. Re: Tariffs and zBitx Shipments

Ken - there are additional orders which go into much more detail than provided by the fact sheets.? While China appears to be the first country to have the de minimis exclusion removed, other countries are also being prepped for removal.? It's outlined in the EOs and the logistics world is already preparing for additional processing from additional vountrirs.? It appears that India is one of the countries in the proverbial target zone.? While this doesn't yet fit your desire to only hear "what is", it does support my earlier point that once a threshold is crossed, it's much easier for the kudzu to spread.
?
I hope the de minimis exclusion remains for imports from India.? In this current environment, however, I wouldn't bet against it.

You should have included the very first paragraph of the Whitehouse fact sheet - It clearly states that the de minimus exception is indeed gone as relates to China, and only China: |

Thanks Bob for being on topic. At least it’s probably being addressed.

I noticed this a week ago and filed it as issue #27.
It is apparent if you center a CW signal in filter width at 2.5 kHz display width, the tone heard is the correct sidetone frequency Same issue seen in FT8. ?

If this does not work, I suspect some compile files are missing some data. Joe VE1BWV On Mon, Apr 7, 2025 at 6:08?PM Joe via <joeman2116=[email protected]> wrote:

Zbitx arrived with major issues
Well, my long awaited ZBitx arrived 4 hours ago.? Put the batteries in, connected an antenna and was soon listening to lots of stations on 40 and 20 meters.? But when I tried to call out, no one responded.? I got a friend to tune up and listen.? I heard him clearly, he heard nothing when I transmitted.
?
I then tried a local receiver, and same thing but maybe worse:? I hear no audio when in TX but do hear a constant carrier on the receiver on the Zbits tuned frequency (this is in SSB Mode).? If I start shifting the receiver off frequency, I can hear some modulation products 1.5 kHz away, but nothing with useful readability.
?
The SWR and power meter on the Zbitx show power and low SWR, as does an external wattmeter.? The ZBitx also gets hot, so I know power is being made, but that power doesn't seem to be related to the tuned frequency.
?
One last item, as I got finally frustrated, I picked up the Zbitx while in TX and heard noise from the local receiver.? Tapping on the metal bottom produced some tapping sounds in the receiver.? But even that was inconsistent.
?
So, I suspect something is loose/broken in the new Zbitx.? I don't mind trying to troubleshoot, but I'd much prefer having a radio that works as anticipated, as I don't have infinite time to waste fixing someone else's problem.
?
Has anyone else had similar issues?
?
What do you suggest as remedial action???

Yes, i did resolve it. I thought i had documented or taken pictures of the settings. I am looking thru my old paper work. ( I have sold the Sbitx a while back so don't have it to compare to) Hmm maybe even in one of my emails. Checking Joe VE1BWV? On Mon, Apr 7, 2025, 5:27?p.m. HA3HZ via <gyula=[email protected]> wrote:

Joel, if I remember correctly, you had a CAT problem with wsjtx back in the 32-bit era. Did you manage to fix it?
