Re: RF power chain mods and improvements..
The good news is there are enough control signals to select either 2 or 4 band filters.
Where to put them and also add gain to make up for insertion loss are issues. If only one band its easy.? The filter and detect that no other than 30mhz low pass is selected. That takes a transistor and a relay.? And a band pass filter for 10 or 15M, pick one. Still needs more gain to get power out on 10M then.? A MMIC with 10-12db gain good for +5 dbm or more would do fine. Allison |

Like I said, I don't know anything about a Mac, but it appears that you have multiple copies of the project. I'll tell you how I have my code laid out, and maybe you can do something similar on the Mac. First, my Arduino working directory is on Drive E, as that's my "big" drive. I have a directory at the root of that drive that reflects the version of the IDE. Currently, this is Arduino1.8.5. So, my compiler is in E:/Arduino1.8.5. (I have Arduino versions of the IDE back to 1.0.5 and they are all still fully functional, which allows me to backtrack if I need to.) This is what the main Arduino compiler directory looks like:: The top line in the figure shows we are looking at the contents of directory E:Arduino1.8.5. What you see in the photo is the "standard" Windows Arduino installation. If you look in the libraries subdirectory in the figure above, you'd see this: Again, the top line shows we are looking at E:/Arduino1.8.5/libraries. I have 117 libraries installed on my system. Note, my project files are nowhere to be seen in this directory. My project files are located on drive E, but in a directory named ?BITXNew/Software/JackAlCode. I'm currently working on Version 12 of the code, so this is what you see in my project directory: Note the top line in the figure: E:/ ?BITXNew/Software/JackAlCode/JackAlV012. NOTE: There are NO subdirectories in the project directory, only the main project file (the ino file that holds setup() and loop()), source code files (*.cpp), or header files (*.h)...No subdirectories. I have no clue if this would be useful info on a Mac, but I would think it should be laid out in similar fashion on a Mac. Jack, W8TEE

Re: Ubitx factory firmware support CAT control?
#ubitx
The newer factory firmware downloads contain CAT and it works well.

The Bitx40 Raduino used to use 2 connectors with wiring harnesses.? ? The uBITx uses a connector and a row of pins.? The pins eliminate the need for the signal wire harness.?? Otherwise, it is basically the same. Marco - KG5PRT? Re: Building homebrew ubitx: Need pre-v3 schematic PDF. Also, source for 45M15 (45 MHz IF) filter?
Thank you for the information -
Is the 45 Mhz IF filter (or any of it's variants that could work, including SMD) considered current factory production? Everything else in ubitx seems to be contemporary, but this part might have lifetime issue. Ebay sources appear to be disposition of surplus parts in small quantity only. Rockby (AU) has 8 on hand when I checked this AM and I could not fill the minimum order cost. Checking US mainstream distributors (as of 5 June 2018): Mouser: ECS ECS-45K20A (currently shows 72 stock, none on order, no factory lead time estimate, and no other 45 MHz crystal filters in any package in stock.) Digikey: Three ECS offerings (SMD only) were expensive (tens of USD) Newark: None of any type |

Yes, I have realized that. I have asked a local amateur and he told me that about 100 km from here there is a skilled ham with all the equipment needed. Hopefully he will be of help. I will let you know.
Thanks for all your efforts! H?kan |
Re: Ideas for AM, NB FM Demod and CW filter board
Yes that is true but we must not forget that Bitx and uBitx are affordable for a beginner amateur radio and that adding a lot of additional features will confuse more than one if the price was a lot most important. What makes Bitx interesting is the price that allows a beginner to start and a seasoned enthusiast to experiment with many things. We are still in the QRP traffic domain. Or we must add these features in the form of additional cards that can be purchased or manufactured later. I think the most desirable goal would be to make a modular package that everyone can change as they see fit. That's just my opinion 73 QRO 2018-06-05 13:03 GMT+02:00 Radu <radu.loga@...>: @Gilles, |

FM is used on 29 Mhz!

Re: Ideas for AM, NB FM Demod and CW filter board
@Gilles,
Lets not forget that in some countries HF equipment is quite expensive and therefore many of the new radio enthusiasts are starting in CB 27Mhz AM/FM. In my opinion this modes are also quite useful. Also on amateur radio level in 10 meter band in the summer when the propagation is open many nice QSOs can be made in FM around 29600Mhz. So in these case why not to have AM/FM |

Hello Questions to ask: Is the AM still used at amateur radio level Is the FM used in the HAM band, except that the uBitx attacks a 144 or 430mhz transverter? 73 2018-06-05 12:44 GMT+02:00 <tutdavid@...>: Hi,? |

I have only unsoldered and ckecked one trifilar (T3). No short between windings. It was a pain for an old man with not so good eyes anymore and used to vacuum tubes.. H?kan |
Re: RF power chain mods and improvements..
Ok. To attenuate spurs at an acceptable level we might add a high pass filter for the 10m band. However for the 15 and 12m band I don't see an easy solution Il 05/giu/2018 06:19, "Tim Gorman" <tgorman2@...> ha scritto: Arv, |
Re: micro bitx: strong signals from broadcasting stations
That can be removed with a high pass filter especially if you don't mind for the 160meters band. It can be done with three small toroids and high voltage ceramic capacitors. Just put externally. You might also try a notch filter that eliminates the offending frequency. Of course all this assumes that the MW broadcast does not emit spurs on the HF, in this case you could not do much |
