Re: "uBITX Home Frequency" idea

Evan just proposed what I believe to be the best idea I have heard for uBITX users to find and work each other -?using the BITX Live Map.
Each of us could?activate "a specific symbol for each band" whenever we are listening on the appropriate ARRL QRP frequency for that band.
All we need is an index of symbols.
I have "activated" my call a few times but only seen one or two other "Live" symbols.? Never worked another "Live" station.? The map is a great tool.? Adding a frequency makes it better than just knowing there IS a needle somewhere in the haystack.

Arv,
I am like you, more builder/tinkerer than an operator.? My logbook is really slim, mostly FT8 contacts.?

All,
As I stated earlier in the thread, I have tried the 7.277 MHz frequency, even with a scheduled meeting to help another ham with testing his uBITX.? Because of my antenna situation, we could not establish contact, as well as two others tried and none of us were able to establish a qso.? I even tried with my IC-7300.? The only way we knew what was happening was through emails sent between us.

The BITX Live map is probably the best idea.? The one problem is knowing the band.? A slight mod to the symbols, with one for each band, could make that easier to use.? The one issue is that I have not seen any other live symbols on the map when I check it.? I have since given up.

Above are just My opinions, yours can be different.
