I assume you've checked carefully for solder bridges on those connections. There's very little room, and no dedicated thru-holes for those connections.
Are you open to an off-the-wall suggestion? Check continuity of the RX wire in that harness from the main PCB to the pin connector on the LED board. I pulled my hair out for weeks trying to figure out why my unit had no audio out, until I finally stopped assuming the obvious and discovered a bad crimp on one pin of a similar three-pin pigtail which I had used to wire my volume control. The 'high side' of my volume pot wasn't connected to anything!
