No RX LED indication #v5

I cannot get the TX/RX LED to show any indication when receiving a signal. When transmitting it works just fine.? Doe any one have any ideas as to why this might be happening?? I have check the connections listed here and found no issues.

What am I missing?

What comes to mind for me is that you have the wrong led. Use your ohm.meter to light the led in both directions after disconnecting it. Should light red in one direction and green in the other. I suspect it's a plain red only led

You can flip the LED connection to see if green will light on transmit. Maybe you have the receive led connected to the wrong spot? If ubitx is working, and led will illuminate both colors,? it has to be a misconnection.

The TX-RX LED is designed to show which *mode* the rig is in at the moment. There is no squelch circuit or AGC which could be exploited to give a 'signal present' indication.
It should be showing green whenever the rig is powered up and not transmitting.

Thanks Curt.? That is one of the first things I tried and I can confirm that the color changes if I flip the connection.

I will try to post a picture of the connection tonight....maybe I am hooked up to the wrong spot on the board.

So I have double checked my connections and I have verified that if I switch the LED connector the LED will change from red to green when i hit the PTT. But I still cannot get it to light up when in RX. It is not a big deal, but since I know it is supposed to it will drive me nuts until I can figure it out.

Here is a pic of the connections. Did I miss something obvious?

I assume you've checked carefully for solder bridges on those connections. There's very little room, and no dedicated thru-holes for those connections.

Are you open to an off-the-wall suggestion? Check continuity of the RX wire in that harness from the main PCB to the pin connector on the LED board. I pulled my hair out for weeks trying to figure out why my unit had no audio out, until I finally stopped assuming the obvious and discovered a bad crimp on one pin of a similar three-pin pigtail which I had used to wire my volume control. The 'high side' of my volume pot wasn't connected to anything!

Thanks for the suggestion Rick. I actually had not checked for continuity on the RX wire, out of frustration I know I am missing silly things.

Sadly though, I did check and the connections are all good but there is still no RX indication.

Any more ideas?

The display changes to TX when transmitting. No need for a separate light or led.?
