What is the serial number of the uBitx? You may have one with the bad audio chip. If so, it has WX on it.

Just finished putting together uBitx in the Amateur radio kits case.
Turned it on and tuned, heard lots of squeals. After about two minutes
of looking for a signal with minimum antenna the audio quit and cannot
get a sound out of it at all. Any ideas? seems like the tuning and
setup still works.
