I cheat. ?I have the same tuner but use a Youkits FG-01 antenna analyzer to tune the tuner, then connect the tuner to my QRP rigs. ?I also use it traveling with different end fed antennas and light weight dipoles to tune my QRP travel tuner first before applying power.

You can also use a keyer and send a bunch of dits while tuning the tuner. ?That is what I used for years before getting the antenna analyzer and it also takes the pressure off the finals.

With some QRP rigs I have tuned up with a 9 volt battery, then switched to the 12 or 13 volt supply.

I don't have my Ubix yet, but am seeing that a ant tunner is a must.
I have a long wire ant and the mfj versa tunner 2, mfj-969.

all worked good with my yeasu ft-450d.

I am worried about transmitting with the Ubix and trying to tune the ant? without blowing the fuse.

what would be the good auto tuner to use with it..

or how much time would I have with my tunner ? tuning my long wire.

thanks
