When I wrote the
QST article (Nov., 2017), the AD9850 (Type II) was selling for around $10 on eBay. Now, some dealers are asking over $100 for one...ridiculous! I use that board both on the antenna analyzer and the BITX40 TFT/VFO board. One user wrote to me with this source:
They are selling the board for $12.50 and he claims it works perfectly. If anyone is building the AA, you can substitute the AD9851 if you omit D4 and D5 and jumper the 5V line to the chip.
