By "carrier", perhaps you mean the incoming signal to the RF port.
That does make sense.
But will vary wildly with the type of mixer.
A level 17 diode ring mixer can take a much bigger rf signal than a level 3 diode ring mixer.
I assume up by 14 db.
And both with do far better than an ne612 mixer.
