I've
been using Nano clones for years and have never had an
issue. Is the clone causing an issue? If it is, you can
always cut out/desolder the cheap socket, buy a
"real" Nano and a quality socket, and reinstall
it. I don't recall anyone having an issue with the Nano
itself or its socket. Also, I remember the genuine Nano was
around $25. I think I would be more disappointed if the
BITX40 price jumped $20 than the fact that a viable clone
was being used.

The Nano clone even uses
a different serial to USB chipset - CH340/CH341 which is an
issue when using Arduino on OSX.
