RF gain control

Hi all,

I added RF gain to my Bitx40 ?because strong signals were causing audio distortion.
I followed this ND6T lead -?

I discovered that a two-pin connector will fit neatly in the space left by removing R15.?

You have to carefully drill a couple of holes through the solder pads, then slide the plastic connector up the pins to provide room to solder the pins to the board.
Then slide the connector back down. You have to remove some copper on the underside of the board so the pins are not shorted. I added some epoxy there to add strength.

I added a 220 ohm resistor in series with the?
potentiometer to substitute for the original smd resistor.

In Australia, Altronics has the connectors. You can re-use the unused leads and pins from the Raduino connector in a new shell after pressing down the pins through the small hole in the connector and sliding them out.
