Instead of HOT glue , 2 component Epoxy might be a safer option.

I installed the mic and impulse switch in a plastic top and wonder about the wisdom of squiring some hot glue on the inside of the top to secure the mic and especially the PTT button.

Just not sure how an elecret mic will fair after being "heated" up.
