I got my bitx40 mounted in an old aluminum baking pan ($.50 at local thrift store) and finally hooked up TX power. No QSO's yet, but the TX works, and when I lsten on my "big" radio, the audio, using the little electret mic, doesn't sound too bad. My MFJ antenna tuner shows power going to the antenna, so it's just a matter of time before my first QSO. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well the RX works, also.
Next step is to try USB function so I can give JT65 a shot.
