Re: USB/LSB operation
You can jumper over, better remove.
What I do is desolder both ends and move the SMD and let one end be soldered so I can put it back later if needed.

Raduino won't go above 8.500 mhz
I've not done a lot with the Raduino as i m using a after market VFO unit on my main BITX-40, On my other BITX-40 I've kept it basically standard other than change the frequency coverage of the

Re: Raduino clicks
Yes I would be interested to try this out!
I'd like to try if we can include this in the standard raduino sketch,
replacing the etherkit si5351 library.

Re: USB/LSB operation
I got USB working by simply increasing the VFO drive level in the
software. It wasn't necessary to remove the caps.
Just change 4MA to 8MA in line 654 (in

Re: USB/LSB operation
Indeed, I wanted to use USB for digital, and so I changed my QRP Labs VFO from offset from - to +. I could hear signals, but *really* quietly. I'm just going to jumper over c91 and c92 rather than

Re: USB/LSB operation
The reason its quiet is because USB uses high side vfo and c91, c92 are
shorting out the signal from the vfo. To get USB the vfo is changed from
5MHz to 19MHz. Remove c91 and c92 and it will

Re: USB/LSB operation
There is something that took a while for me and others to understand and accept is that the BITX40 is a lower single side band phone mode transceiver. Making it do anything else is impractical and

USB/LSB operation
I modified the 1.05 Raduino sketch to monitor D7 and flip the state of the "isUSB" variable so that the tuning function would change the injection frequency to allow USB detection. The firmware change

Re: PTT pop hack
Here's a thought, those with a Nano might be able to use it to sequence the transition: ?

Progress!
I got my bitx40 mounted in an old aluminum baking pan ($.50 at local thrift store) and finally hooked up TX power. No QSO's yet, but the TX works, and when I lsten on my "big" radio, the audio, using

Re: PTT pop hack
Joe,
Last week I tested this suggestion and it does not help much. It reduces the pop but not much.
Next week when I am back in town I will try some other ideas and see.

Ten-Tec and Heathkit? (I think Swan too) did it for years... the sidetone you heard in the speaker when transmitting was the same tone applied to the transmitter audio section. Mic disconnected. plus

Re: Compile fail
I thought that the Si5351 chip on the Raduino used Etherkit libraries rather than Adafruit. Does it make a difference? Or would they both work?
