You're in good company, I did a similar thing and erroneously wired my function button to +12v instead of ground. Everything worked fine until I pressed the button and then it was as dead as a doornail.?
I ordered a pair of Arduino nano's from eBay for ?5 and then spent 2 hours desoldering the fried one and replaced it with the new one. Reprogrammed it and my BitX40 sprang back to life.?
It probably pays to contain your excitement and check and double check the wiring before switch-on.
