1602 displays are much cheaper although you do not have refinements such as downfall for band activity display as on the Nextion etc Consider having the display switching off after a predetermined customer selectable time or simply manually. Perhaps NBFM as RX can be used with VHF/UHF converters on 28MHz. Ideas coming to my mind as I read the?emails. Good day.

We can use Ian Lee's firmware for 1602 Display or Nextion Display . There are other firmwares but I have not tried any of them as yet .?
