I cannot describe the Utimatic mode better than Karl.
I was first introduced to the mode in person by SK Al Williams VE6AXW and SK Martin Berger VE6ARA who presented their transistorized version running full break-in in a Demo in Edmonton, AB in 1977 they were both running Tube (Valve) Receivers and Tube Transmitters. In this demo the phrase "Seeing Is Believing" was very evident as Martin was able to interrupt Al between his set dits. To make the demo more dramatic they ran at 10 WPM for those present to better hear the exchange. They also demonstrated the operation at 20 WPM, 25 WPM and 30 WPM for those more proficient at CW.?
For CW the art of Squeeze Keying is becoming a lost art.
