How do I know if the OS is using Wayland or X?
I use sbitx with my own DSI monitor (800x400) and an HDMI monitor (1920x1080). This error only occurs when I do the upgrade. Some update will spoil the previous quality. It only spoils the display of the DSI monitor. HDMI works fine.
It also happened a few days ago, because I didn't know how to fix the log program I was using, so it was a backup and then an update. Then, for the first time, the DSI screen had only gray horizontal lines, which were flashing. The image was not visible.
In order to experiment with it, I have to upgrade again.
The grandkids will be here today, so I'll do that later.
