if you read on the linked page, you can see that this is a modification of the DE version. This change is not a change to v2.
You don't need to modify the v2, if your power supply is current limiting, it will work for a long time.
Use a well-matched antenna and you will be successful.
I uploaded and only store my QSOs made with sBitx here.
I'm using V2 with v3.02 software, PSU 12.5V to 6.00A current limit.
My antenna is an inclined vertical loop antenna fed from above (10m at its highest point).
