harald,
I tried adding a squelch control and then, it became tricky to set it
correctly. I hope we can find an auto squelch. It is irritating to see
the random decodes.

I have enjoyed using the sBitx for cw lately. Sending from keyboard and using macros are fine, and the decoding function helps a rusty ear receiving.
Last night three of us agreed testing the cw further. All three were sending from our computers. I was the only one using the sBitx. The band was quiet and all three systems received 100% correctly as long as the code was machine generated.
I was quite pleased with the sBitx. We all used the same WPM I had a narrow BW of 300 Hz.
So far so good. But he moment the the other station stopped sending the sBitx window is filled up with Es, Ts and dot s and dashes and other characters decoded from the noise received although the band was very quiet.
It would have been so good to get rid of all that noise generated text. I am looking for a function like squelch in FM or noice limiter of some sort. I tried to adjust the IF level down but to no gain.
So my questions are: What settings are you using for cw, and have anyone found a way to reduce all the noise generated characters?
