Re: Discrepancy between max CW output power and max USB output power

OK, now I'm really confused.
Earlier, I had slipped back into "uBitx" thinking -- that there was a BFO frequency that needed to be aligned with a narrow crystal frequency.
The sBitx isn't like that.? ?The crystal filter is WIDE and the modulation is computed and then mixed with a carrier.

So what I REALLY don't understand is why the lower sideband transmissions are SO much stronger than upper sideband?? ? I moved the "clip" value upwards by the square root of 2 so that I could modulate closer up to the level that the CW/CWR modulate at, and I used various "tune" signals from FLDGI to allow me to "map" the repsonse of the transmitter.? ?In the graph below, 0 = suppressed carrier frequency.? ?-2kHz is produced by setting sBitx into LSB and sending it a 2kHz tone.? ?+2kHz is produced by setting sBitx into USB and send it the same amplitude 2kHz tone.? ?There is an astonishing difference, and I don't know why.? ?Is some windowing filter NOT CENTERED???

Anybody able to explain this for me?? ? At first I modified the "BFO" frequency by a couple kHz to make this more symmetrical, but I don't think that is the right way to go....

Thanks to anyone who can figure this out,
