Update on the longer previous post.? ?We loaded out our first tandem (an OPUS Counterpoint), to a 14 year old amputee and her father last week.? Dave and Julie Harper donated a lovely tandem so that we now have four tandems ready for loan.? ?If someone else has a tandem to donate, we could use a couple more--especially in sizes to support smaller captains.

Looking for donation of used tandems for loan to people with disabilities.
Based on a successful UK charity, Charlotte’s Tandems US has applied for non-profit status. ?We have a partner 501(C)3 that can provide donation letters for tandems donated to us in the interim.

Spring is coming! We have certainly missed riding with you over the last year and are hopeful that we might be able to gather at some point this year. First, a request, if you have a Zoom account that allows more than 40 minutes and would be willing to host please let us know. With an optimistic view we thought we could have a planning meeting to say hello and tentatively schedule some tandem rides for this year. We are planning to have a Zoom meeting on Sunday, March 21st at 7:00. BBC and PPTC have each posted guidelines for having rides which we will need to follow. The full guidelines are posted on each club website, baltobikeclub.org and potomacpedalers.org . To smooth the process, if you have a ride and date you would like to put on the tentative calendar please email it to us at crabs@... (Mike and Evie) and/or wabitscoordinator@... (Ed and Laurie). 2021?ETR and MATES rallies - Cancelled
开云体育We just received the following. Ed and Laurie ?To our tandem riding friends: Unfortunately we decided to cancel this year's ETR and MATES rallies. 2021 is just too uncertain right now. Your Board of Directors gave this a lot of consideration. It was for everyone's safety that we decided to cancel both of this year's rallies. We hope that everybody is staying safe, wearing masks, and successfully avoids catching this nasty virus. We are optimistic that immunizations for all will make group gatherings safe again and are looking forward to having rallies again in 2022. I also encourage anyone who has a favorite place to ride and wants to share it with us for a future rally, to please contact any of us on the Board. We’re here to help. Please stay strong. Rodney Moseman
We are very saddened to report that Rodney Moseman, from Lititz, PA, passed away on December 11, 2020.? Rodney was a renowned bicycle builder, bike shop owner, tandem rally coordinator, avid cyclist, cycling advocate, and dear friend to many in the cycling world for many decades. Rodney, an extraordinary gentleman, will be greatly missed. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
