Thanks for sharing that story about Ethan.? The peaceful parts are very peaceful, and the "rough" parts aren't very rough. :-)
When my kids were young, Keith complained that I "let them talk back."? I said we were having discussions, and arguments.? ?What I didn't tell him was that if I wasn't controlling and commanding, then "talking back" didn't apply.? What I did say was that it was good practice for them, and that if they could win an argument with me, they could hold their own with anyone. :-)
Truly, it WAS good practice, and it was conversational.? If learned more about them, their thoughts, and fears, beliefs, confusions, and they learned more about me.? None of that hurt any of us. :-)
