Re: Vacuum pump for sampling
Nick I have a oil type pump on my vacuum oven and it uses scrubbers on the exhaust as there is quite a haze without it. Do you get an oil haze out of the exhaust port? All that is going back in so use

Re: Alpha and Beta particle Spec
Gast pump is warm at 120vac but not overly hot. My expectation is that this old GE motor doesn't care much about input voltage even if the rating is 240 as long as nothing restricts it too much.

Re: Vacuum pump for sampling
Well I shoved the cord wires in an extension cord and it actually seems to run okay on 120vac. Sounds pretty good, not too loud. If I completely plug the inlet hoses it slows down enough to kick in

Re: Vacuum pump for sampling
Nick that looks like a rotary vane type pump that uses oil which is going to be very bad getting into that detector head. I would absolutely not use anything that had oil involved. Dud Sent: Sunday,

Vacuum pump for sampling
Okay so I did bring my little Gast pump to Texas. That's the good news. The bad news is that the motor is 240vac. And I haven't added the additional 240 outlets I need to for range, tube furnace,

I wonder if you can save settings to the CF card. I really doubt it uses the 4GB capacity just for the database files. wrote:

Methinks we better record all those "as found" option settings for posterity, in case we need to reset after experimental changes.Geo

No, I was thinking a gentle flow into the inlet side. It looks like one of the adapters in the box is set up for a hose connection. So it would be in the right direction, but I was worried about

Re: Alpha and Beta particle Spec
Nick Don¡¯t push air into the CAM valve outlet. You want to use a vacuum for airflow to the detector. You need to pull room air into it not push air in backwards. Only hook up a vacuum line to the
