Help needed after PIC16F1938 replacement
#atu-100

Hello All
Last October, I purchased via Etsy ATU-100 mini from S51PV. It arrived and I turned it On, saw the unit was working and I put it in my drawer. It came in without a case and without antenna ports. Couple of weeks back, I decided to put the ATU to use and soldered the antenna connectors. I inadvertently, supplied 12v to the button pin which obviously damaged the PIC chip - at least this is what I suspected. Since then I have replaced the PIC16F1938 chip and flashed it multiple times - but the display shows the attached characters. Is there something else that would have got damaged which I need to replace? I tried to search a lot but cannot find any answer. 73 de VU2TUM Puneit Singh |
Hi have you programmed the pic to tell it what display it is using, as in the manual, Dave 2E0DMB? On Sun, 9 Jun 2024, 13:39 Puneit Singh via , <vu2tum=[email protected]> wrote: Hello All |
Try to set the unit to test mode ( press tune bypass an auto, all 3, simultaneously on power on), check the relay operation. ?That will let you confirm firmware an hardware functionality (*pressing auto and bypass you increase or decrease C or L values).? The display may be damaged by 12V passing via pic. Replace it. 73 Paulo PY1JDX? Em dom., 9 de jun. de 2024 10:14, Puneit Singh via <vu2tum=[email protected]> escreveu: Dear Dave, |

While my board only has one button, I looked at the schematic and found the auto and bypass pins at 27, 26. I grounded these two pins and shorted the button using a jumper and then plugged in power supply. Now, I hear many relays clicking during startup and the screen becomes blank. Afterwards, shorting either of the pins (27,28) don't give any aural indication that relays are clicking. I am placing an order for 0.96" OLED SSD1306 display - it should arrive in a few days. I will let you know how it goes. 73 VU2TUM |
Hi there Puneit! Good news. Yes, as you have decided,? the first thing to do is to change OLED Display. Since the relays are switching up and down it's a good indication that the firmware and hardware are good. First of all check?the EEPROM data in Cell 00 and 01 .? I've had a problem with my second ATU (N7DDC) kit on those values. Bellow is a portion of the PDF document: ATU-100_Extended_Board_User_Manual_eng_*** () "

OLED displays usually have an address of 78 or 7A. ?It is allowed to record any address in the cell for normal operation with the connected I2C device.?
