Re: Pickit 3 Windows Software
Hi Steve,
If you use the MP-Lab-X software, and attempt to program something in a different family that last used, then it usually re-flashes the bootloader and firmware.

Many thanks both of you for your help.
I uninstalled 3.1 from my laptop and from my PC and reinstalled. It could not find my Pickit3 on either machines.

Re: Pickit 3 Windows Software
Hi Steve,
MP-Lab-X IDE/IPE works with the PICKit3.
5.x runs on Windows 10 (and includes mpasm)
6.x Runs on Windows 10/11 (but does not includes mpasm)

Re: Auto mode
Steve,
you can reprogram the EEPROM section of the ATU and write the value 01 into location 02 and that will permanently put the device into auto mode - assuming you don¡¯t have any buttons to

Re: 1000 Watt Version of this great ATU
If this is "simply" a beefed up version of the ATU100 then the programming port is shared by the display connector.? This needs a pickit3 and is covered elsewhere on this forum.

Re: 1000 Watt Version of this great ATU
Hi Derek,
Try swapping the input and output coax leads over, as some boards have these labelled the wrong way around.
Otherwise, try more power, as the 1000W version needs a bit more (unless you tweak

Re: 1000 Watt Version of this great ATU
ATU1000 requires more than 10W tuning power.
Set in the transceiver at least 30W... up to 50W even.
A lot depends on how the tuner was configured!

Re: 1000 Watt Version of this great ATU
Sure is something was screwed up with software, nothing neither display
would work. So take care about the swr/ power sensor. 100% you made a
mistake or bad manufacturing.

So - finally I've got some time and tried the new David's code on one of my ATU-100 units.
What can I say - the tuning speed was dramatically low and device was more or less unusable and unstable

Re: Hardware / software wish list
Hi Ian,
The SGC and some Icom tuners seem to use (expensive) phase detection chips to measure phase and impedance.
Some of the MFJ and mAT, plus the ICOM AH-4 seem to use a series resistor switched

Hi Ron,
The EEPROM L and C values are only used for the display, they aren't used for any calculations during tuning.
