Well i cooked my ferrite cores on a swr coupler, saw one had burned coils so rewound it but still the coupler had a high swr when inline,i thought cooking the torroids had killed them,at first i only

Re: Power and SWR reading are wrong on upper bands.
Is there a visual check to determine if I have the crap diodes? Have not even started assembling my Aliexpress kit yet. The diodes on my board are largish glass things. Thanks John, VK4TJ

Re: ATU-100 Relays
hi folks, you only have to search on internet for print-relais "HRS1H-S-DC12V" and you will be satisfied. Perhaps take a nearer look to the various producers. Not all let them use at 250V AC/3A. good

HI RG58 works perfect too. Both coils must be turned in the same direction.

Re: torroids
I don't think the Tandem winding matters as its a transformer rather than a coil. But I could well be wrong. However, I've built quite a few of the ATU-100 and I have never given it a thought and they

Re: torroids
So for the tandem toroid, does it matter which way those are wound? Should they be mirror images of each other (clockwise on one, counterclockwise on the other)?

Re: torroids
For the air cores, you are correct, either hand will suffice as the start and end are inline, were they to be staggered as with the Toroid cores on the atu then it would matter. Left handed cores have

Re: torroids
For the air cores, I think it doesn¡¯t matter. For the tandem core, I don¡¯t know. For the big ones, I think they are all clockwise.

Re: torroids
Does not matter for a single winding, for multiple windings ON THE SAME CORE wind them all in the same direction.
