Re: Tuning not starting
开云体育Hello, I get 87.4 ohm (identical) on one side and OL on the other. Should I replace? I'll check the diodes when I get home from work and let you know. Thank you for the input. Before changing the diodes, you should make some little measurements with an Ohm-meter to see, if the diodes are indeed diodes... From Anode to GND you should measure abt. 25 ohms, from cathode to GND you should have more than 68k. If not, change them both. There were some issues with the diodes I know. 73, Immo (the starter of this thread is "Kes", M0PKZ. perhaps mail him in direct to get knowing how he solved his problem...., address you find on QRZ-web site) |

Re: Tuning not starting
开云体育Hello, Thanks for responding. I checked my board and per the schematic and parts listed on it, it states that it has BAT41 diodes installed. They are both matching black diodes on the underside of the board. Should I change them out anyway? Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone -------- Original message -------- From: "Immo, DL5KB" <dl5kb@...> Date: 8/22/23 01:54 (GMT-06:00) Subject: Re: [ATU100] Tuning not starting perhaps the diodes at the bridge don‘t work as they should. If possible change them both(!) to BAT41 or equivalent. There were multiple issues with this (search for ?BAT41“ ). Hope, it helps… 73, Immo |
ATU-100 tuner not working (build)
Hello,
I built the tuner and purchased a separate case for it. It powers on, but I am not getting any readings other than all zeros (SWR, etc).? I checked all torroids for continuity and read somewhere else where someone had to scratch the paint off the case to get good grounding. I did that as well without success. I am also powering the unit with 12VDC per the manual. Any other ideas to help troubleshoot? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ryan KF8IV |
Re: ATU-100 Assembly instructions?
Thank you for the tips. I also suggest this YouTube video ? which explains winding of the toroids and the air inductors, and a way to use a piece of coax on each side of the binocular core.? The inductance part of the video starts around 5:15. 73, Al - va3iaw On Fri, 18 Aug 2023 at 11:52, Immo, DL5KB <dl5kb@...> wrote: hello Allen, |

Re: ATU-100 Assembly instructions?
hello Allen,
I see, I'm a little late, but after looking to my built? of ATU100 I want to share some thoughts and tips... The binocular core gives some challenge to wind by people with only two hands...? Windings must not overlap! As primary winding I used a piece of RG58, one side of the shield of both parts soldered to ground. The toroid cores have to be counter clockwise wound to fit to the PCB. The windings spread over 3/4 of circumference. I hope it helps anyway... 73 Immo |

Re: ATU-100 Assembly instructions?
Thank you.? I had found the technical description and schematic, but couldn't find an assembly manual.? The YouTube video by va3hdl looks good. 73, Al - va3iaw On August 17, 2023 10:43:33 a.m. "David Fainitski" <rolin791@...> wrote:
Hi Allen, you can find schematic and manual, but assembly is the simple soldering components to the board.? |
