Re: low power tuner options help
Hi?
5 turns in the tandem core equal to 10 W power , or known as QRP mod. For 50 W I would use 7 turns. It is possible to calculate, the voltage on the tandem coils should not exceed 2 Volts peak value on the max power . Some smart body provided a formula for Excel on GitHub messages but it is real challenge to find it now.? |

No you are not stuffed, You just do not hear what people are saying, Just use the updated firmware on the GitHub, On Thu, 26 Jan 2023, 13:50 paul larner, <quadzillatech@...> wrote: just heard from the seller,i am informed the fw has been encrypted, guess i am stuffed then?,maybe a warning to others!. |

Re: Programing issues
Howard and amanda,i have tried the google route and got no where on this programing issue,if i had rest assured i would not be asking here,i have programing experiance but not with microchip products,i am used to atmels offerings, pics seem a lot different,i iam trying to find out whats going on,ie is this read write protect issue i have the same for everyone else?,or do i have a faulty pickit3 that i need to send back or same with the atu pcb,my last one of these is fine its just i have never tried to read or write the ic,i only got the programer yesterday and have only just started playing with it,also why spend hours going down dead ends with google when hopefully someone here has had the same issues and could advise me,in the same situation what would you do,ive been taught if you dont know the answer ask someone who does!.

Re: Programing issues
Hi,
I can¡¯t remember where I bought my kit from but it worked first time once built, as for programming I haven¡¯t tried it to see if the pic is write protected. I did think of downloading the programming software for my pickit and reading my atu100 to see if it gives all zeroes, but to be honest it¡¯s too much trouble in this case. The same person asked a question about the velocity factor of 300 ladder line on another group, it took me seconds to google it and provide the answer, which the person could have done. And it¡¯s right, people don¡¯t sit by their pc waiting to answer questions on groups. 73 de M0DZO |

Re: Programing issues
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf you are incapable of sorting out why a kit will work/or not, you should think about getting one ready made.I think there are lots of people on here who would have helped you but have been put off by your attitude to those who have tried to help. The kits are what they are, there are plenty of us who have been successful in constructing and getting these to work and making changes to the programming. It is not that hard, one only has to apply a little thought to the process. Google is your friend, or whatever your search engine preference is.

Re: Programing issues
hi Paul,
I sent you V3.2 per PM. To program this hex to the PIC you have to erase it before (menu: Programmer -> Erase). It's the only way to delete the protect flags for program- and EEPROM-space. Than you may make a blank check befor new programming. After loading the hex file you have to control and change the EEPROM-data suited to your? needs before burning them to the PIC. 73, Immo DL5KB |

Re: Programing issues
Hi i did wonder about it saying all protected in red, with that will i still be able to program it with the authers hex file or will it lock me out,i have never used pics mostly atmel.73. On Thu, Jan 26, 2023 at 8:19 AM Marius - YO6RK <marius@...> wrote:

Re: Programing issues
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýATU100 from China, is read protected; it says "All Protect" in red. The content cannot be read, so only "0000" appears. You can rewrite it using the .hex file from the author's github page and in the EEPROM area set the values according to the hardware devices used. There is also a very explicit manual on the author's github page, you just have to read it! If it is difficult, ask someone nearby for help, programming the controller takes very little time. --- Cu ganduri bune, Marius ¨C YO6RK senty.ro 73! -------- Original Message --------
[Edited Message Follows] Paul, with respect, it's hardly fair to ask again after about an hour.? Not everybody monitors this group constantly or indeed may be in a different time zone like me in VK. And not everybody has even done this on their ATU-100.The picture is pretty small but it seems that it's reading all zeros' which isn't normal.? You should be reading and showing various Hex values.?? Check that you have the correct pins on the Pickit3 connected to the ATU-100 for a start. EDIT Paul, check also these posts I found with a simple search for "pickit" /g/ATU100/message/1994?p=%2C%2C%2C50%2C0%2C0%2C0%3A%3Arecentpostdate%2Fsticky%2C%2Cpickit%2C50%2C2%2C0%2C96505488 glenn vk3pe |
