ATU100 from China, is read protected; it says "All Protect" in red. The content cannot be read, so only "0000" appears.
You can rewrite it using the .hex file from the author's github page and in the EEPROM area set the values according to the hardware devices used.
There is also a very explicit manual on the author's github page, you just have to read it! If it is difficult, ask someone nearby for help, programming the controller takes very little time.

Paul, with respect, it's hardly fair to ask again after about an hour.? Not everybody monitors this group constantly or indeed may be in a different time zone like me in VK. And not everybody has even done this on their ATU-100.
The picture is pretty small but it seems that it's reading all zeros' which isn't normal.? You should be reading and showing various Hex values.?? Check that you have the correct pins on the Pickit3 connected to the ATU-100 for a start.
