Locked Re: Firmware version 1.6 for ATU-10 #file-notice

Thanks to all, this WF just for the test, I wanna add some things before releasing.
Most likely this FW is Always On version with 0 timing set. Not a bug, it is future.?

Locked Re: Firmware version 1.6 for ATU-10 #file-notice

There¡¯s a version of 1.5 with no timeout. I didn¡¯t think that the 705 would wake it back up after an extended time. Mine is always powered via the USB cable.?

Edited

What is the timeout set to on this one? I shut off the IC-705 it was plugged into and came back maybe an hour later to tint the ATU was still on. Outside of that, 1.6 is working great.?

I was just wondering if there was an update. Once it¡¯s confirmed working could you create a version where it doesn¡¯t shut off? (I operate a lot remote away from the radio). ?It¡¯s been working great!

Hi All
New firmware for ATU-10 with better power and SWR calculation for your test.

Thanks?G8GYW for the idea.

Does the charger board resemble these, for Nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries (CN3085 IC):?
?
or??
like these, for Lithium iron phosphate rechargeable batteries (TP4056 or TC4056 IC):?

Hi again David.

Yes they have the screen, and the battery pack inside.?

Hi David! Thanks so much for your quick reply. I did check the switch connections on the first one. I will check the second.
I am starting to think that the seller is paying someone to assemble these and sending them out untested. They were good enough to send out a second one which I was very happy to receive. You can imagine my disappointment when the second one didn't work either.
I'm luck as my HF dipole tunes below 1.8 :1 swr on 10 and 20 metres, so I'm still able to use it.

Hi, Steve.
For short or long press the button you can see on the display what is happening.
Are those units have displays ?
You can open units and check if the button connected properly to the board .?

Re: Display options

This brings up that "I wish" the UART was active and available and there were a set of commands like: "get <forward/reflected> power" and "set <inductance/capacitance> <value/index>? and "set tuner mode <CL/LC>"? etc etc.??

Then with this capability, a RS422 or 485 xceiver could be used to remote the ATU hundreds of feet away and the display and controls could be fully remote.? Or it could be fully controlled by another MCU like the bitx.?

Just a wish list.

2 ATU-100 Units wont work. #atu-100

Steve

Hi all.
I am new to this group and hope someone here can help me.
I am very frustrated as I have received two ATU-100 units from the same source (eBay supplier) and both units refuse to work.
When I short press to "reset" both units nothing happens, and when I long press to "Tune" nothing happens there also.
I have seen these units used successfully on YouTube. The process seems so simple.
I am aware that a power output of 10 or more watts is required to trigger tuning with these tuners and my Icom-7400 can easily supply that with up to 100watts of RF output available.
I have tried disabling the built-in ATU in the radio but this makes no difference.
Has anyone else in the group had a similar experience with one of these??

Steve.

Grab a surface mount soldering practice board like this from Amazon.? I feel very confident now.? Just be careful, there aren't that many spare LED's in here.

There was mention a while back of a method of having a local display of a remote ATU, Anyone remember who/where to locate this info ? ISTR it was an implementation of I2c interfacing in software.

Re: Display options

Hi, Aaron
Technically you can don't use any display, it will work too.
But if you want to see some info like output power and SWR you can use 2x16 LCD or OLED.
That's equal just choose what you like more.?

Re: Display options

Display can be as simple as a red-green LED,?
or a 2 row by 16 character 1602 LCD,??
or a 4 row by 9 character SSD1306 OLED display,? ?
or sense discrete levels of the CLK and DAT signals on the programming header.?
To change display options, you may need to change settings stored in the microprocessor EEPROM.?
Read the ATU-100 Technical description,?

I'm going to put one of these ATU 100's inside the case for my uBITX (Yes I did the QRP mods). What are the options on showing the status of the ATU-100 other than an LCD or OLED? Is it possible to rig up a bar graph or some LCD's? Any other ideas? My metalworking skills lack any skill and I'm pretty sure I will hack up the front of my case adding a little hole for an OLED. If the OLED or LCD is the only option then I will have to go that route but I would like to know my options before making a decision.?
