Re: ATU-10 has been released
Hi Glenn,
In many cases, aliexpress or ebay merchants don¡¯t even know the names, so the buyer has to decide what the merchant is actually selling. See for example: 6 pin socket, additional switch included or 6 usable contacts, the buyer has to decide which one to buy. Do not disturb if you put 4-pole paths in place of the 3-pole position (if one is at hand). You can use it safely, but vice versa you can't use it, if you need 4 poles, you will need a 4 poles socket. That¡¯s when I used to say think through common sense with your peasant mind about what your wiring is like, where and where your contacts will meet. I don¡¯t expect the circuit designer to give an exact description for the item number, but there are many parts or modules where a photo or availability link is required. We are many and we also have a wide variety of thinking and knowledge. Nice to meet you in the builder forums. All the best. -- 73, Gyula HA3HZ |

Thanks Gyula,
Unfortunately,? the BOM from David does not give the full part type of the connectors for those sourcing parts elsewhere..?

Re: EEPROM Changes for 16x2 Display
Hello.
Excerpt from the documentation: 00 -I2C address setting cell of the connected display. The port extension board for display 1602 made on the PCF8574AT chip has the address 7E, on the chip with the ¡°T¡± index -4E. OLED displays usually have an address of 78 or 7A. It is allowed to record any address in the cell for normal operation with the connected I2C device. The default value is 4E, which corresponds to the LCD display 1602 with an extension board with the PCF8574T chip. The display with address 0x27 from arduino, has address 4E. 73's and GL |

David
There's some potential 'confusion' here I think, as the IC-705 TUNER socket is a stereo type ie 3 contacts. The parts (socket) you have specified, are both 4 way connectors.?? Not sure why you did that, but since I don't have any yet, I assume in your experience, a normal 3 pin stereo plug will make contact ok in the 4 way socket.

Individual parts layout
I have two boards doing the same thing, both on slow test I am get 1.83uH instead of 8.53uH?? Capacitance is only 399pF instead of 1869pF?
I am having a 2nd person go over one of the boards and we are looking for an individual parts placement on the board, which is Q1, Q2 and so on.? Does anyone have this information? Thanks Carlos KE5DFK |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDavid. I mean the actual wiring connections. You have a 3.5mm socket on the atu and so does the IC705.? ?? Is it a 1 to 1 wiring connect?? Ie tip to tip ang ring to ring?? One assumes so but best to check. Glenn? That is simple connection with 3.5mm Jack audio cable. Everything else works like AH-705 tuner, very simple, nothing interesting. |

Andy,
Did you take the turns of both winding symmetrically? If not there will be an imbalance. There is also a hysteresis of the unit where it doesn't think it should tune I have not found a way to change this yet but then I am not a software guy to know enough of the code workings. John |
ATU100 doesn't always tune.
Hi Folks,
I am having a bit of bother with my ATU100 and wonder if someone can suggest a plan of action. Basically, it doesn't always tune. I can't see rhyme or reason to it. At first I thought it was lack of transceiver power so I have done the GRP mods (take turns off the tandem match and patch the memory) but it hasn't made any difference. Please can someone give me some clues how to track this down? ------------------------ Edit... I found a dodgy connector on the SO-239 and it has improved things (as it would!) but it's still not right. when I get the ATU to tune, if I watch the SWR on my radio, the tuner often seems to tune past the best combination (lowest SWR) and picks a high SWR to stop on. Any ideas please? Thanks, Andy. -- Andy - 2E0URS |
Re: ATU-10 has been released
Dale,
Check the github The BOM is there with Digikey cat numbers. Some parts maybe on long lead times.? Not all at Digikey, as you will see, some need to be found on ebay, Aliexpress etc. A few parts I'm having trouble with locally.?? USB C is from Digikey but shipping to vk is expensive. The Common Anode dual LEDs was proving difficult but found I'm in VK and in the middle of sourcing parts locally. My PCB on order from JLC are due this week......... glenn |
