Should have done a search, I see someone else has the same issue as me.
So what I have tried:
1) Different cables - tried two usb-a to usb-c
2) Tried flipping the USB-C cables
3) Verified there is a PIC near the USB port
Just now I tried pushing in the USB-C connector and it pops up briefly if I push in the connector with quite a put of force, so I suspect a bad solder joint now. Will report back in a bit if that fixes the issue.
