If you stop and think about it for a while it will become apparent that for every pass through the core, while the winding is incomplete, there will be one pass over the core - except on the last pass when it doesn't pass over the core because the winding is complete. So, for 20 turns through the core , is that 18, 19, 20, 21 or 22 over the core ?
