I'm no expert, but my understanding is that you count the wire as it
passes over the toroid. The ADX-UNO project has an instructional PDF
with photos, and that is how they count them there. If I'm replacing
something, I wrap it just as I found it.
When you're done winding, you'll have a wire exiting on the front,
and a wire exiting on the back; count the wire as it passes over the
toroid, including the pass as it leaves. Flip it over and the count
will be identical. Some projects seem to ask you to go left-to-right
or right-to-left, but I'm not sure that matters much. I always try
to follow whatever the project says, since I don't know what I'm
doing!

i am talking about the end of the wind where it passes thru the
hole from the opposit side of the core and say gets soldered in
the pcb,so for example if i have a core with 20 turns do i count
22 on the outside of the core or 18,hope that is clear?,cheers+73.
