ATU-10 Firmware V1.4 - OLED pixel shift to Right of display #ATU-10

Hello,

After considerable research I am now the proud owner of an ATU-10

When you see this device ※in your hand§ 每 it*s truly amazing - WELL DONE David!

?

I did not have the time nor my SMT workstation (microscope and all of the SMT rework tools) since at different QTH 每 so I chose what I hope was a reputable AliExpress supplier and ordered a fully assembled unit.

The ※seller§ was responsive and shipped the ATU-10 promptly.

I received the device yesterday 每 within 10 days 每 which is great and all for about AU$100 每 which is great!

?

When I opened the package and held the ATU-10 in my hand 每 I could hear a loud rattle when moving the device up / down / and around 每 something definitely loose inside.

Quick look inside the case revealed a retaining ※wire§ for the OLED screen coming loose due to cold solder joint!

No big thing 每 easily fixed!

?

When powering the ATU-10 I could clearly see that the OLED text is shifted multiple pixels to the RHS of the OLED screen.

See the attached photos

?

Well, for a new device 每 presumably checked before shipping 每 this was disappointing.

(I still have not checked the full operation of the ATU-10 每 its tune function 每 as I am still awaiting some components / cables, etc., before doing tests)

The ATU-10 was flashed with V1.4 firmware 每 presumably stock .HEX from GitHub?

?

I know that for the ATU-100 device there is a patch you can do with pickit3 software for the EEPROM - cell location 08 每 whereby its possible to move the OLED pixels to the LEFT

?

Unfortunately, I don*t know if there is a similar PATCH which can be done for the ATU-10?

?

I don*t think so 每 because it uses different PIC and method of programming the firmware 每 much easier than using the pickit3

?

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has experienced the OLED pixel shift with V1.4 firmware?

As in this moment in time I have no idea why the pixel shift is occurring?

It could be one of the following reasons;

?

1.?????? Bug in firmware

2.?????? Nonstandard firmware (unlikely 每 I think it*s from GitHub 每 since not many have $300 for compiler)

3.?????? Wrong OLED display OR Faulty (unlikely since all seems to work 每 except for the ※shift§)

4.?????? Some other ※construction§ / assembly issues which caused this problem (Hmmm?)

?

Anyway, if its none of the above 每 I might have a real problem as it will be difficult to ※fix§ without either patching the firmware or having access to the compiler?

?

Hoping someone (maybe David can chime-in for a comment) might be able to throw some light to the above rather strange pixel shift for the OLED display.

?

One interesting thing is that the power off message is WAY OFF ( hi ) as the ※F§ is completely appearing on the LHS of the screen.

?

Any comments / suggestions are most welcome.
