Carl, The APRS packet definitions were designed to shoehorn into an existing system. They took advantage of what existed and made it do something new. It wasn't a new system designed from the ground

Looking into this, it appears to be a language Kenwood radios understand.? ?My guess???? is that Yaesu radios will not?? I haven't checked if APRS.FI understands this syntax yet, but I

Re: Digipeating with Kenwood TM D710
I use the D710 TNC on the FalconSat3 9600 bird. When using the Kenwood 710, you need to plug the cable into the head of the radio not the body to use the TNC in KISS mode, at least on FS3, that's what

Gil, As long as the window isn't maximized, you are correct that it is supposed to save the current settings upon exit. Do you have it "docked" in a corner or half screen on close? This may interupt

Re: Digipeating with Kenwood TM D710
The D710 has digipeating built into the radio when the internal TNC is not in kiss mode. It's in the manual, that I don't have handy to tell you the setting to set for it to digipeater stand

That is a "third" method of connecting the D710 to a computer for packet:1. D710 internal TNC in Packet12 mode??? Old TNC3 style packet interface at 1200 baud - TNC controls TX2. D710 internal TNC
