Just to mention a further alternative, independent from propagation conditions:
iCW - Internet CW.
I know of two Mumble CW servers, one in the U.S.A. and one in Germany.
Access is free.
A group of several OPs may meet in a single "CW room".
Mumble is a low latency VOIP platform, so well suited for full-duplex CW.
You'll need two sound cards, one for the audio input, one for the audio output of Mumble.
You may use the side tone of your transceiver or some kind of code practice oscillator for
the audio input of your CW. I have been using an USB headset (sound card built-in) for the
receiving path; the internal sound card of the PC for the sending path.
Activity on these servers is very low -- so SKEDs are the best (only) way to have a conversation.
SonoBus is an alternative to Mumble.

BTW, I've get started the VBAND this month, ant found it's good place for CW
chat without propagation issue.
I connected external Straight/Bug/Paddle+keyer on left side click switch of an
old USB mouse, and it works great.
(no need to buy VBAND Adaptor etc. ?)
I'm almost always on VBAND while I'm working at home. Please give me a call if
you see my CALL on VBAND.:-)
