Re: Life in London
Rebekah found his reaction to her words almost refreshing as she'd rather hoped he wouldn't turn out to be what some might call mindless. Too many people latched onto the idea of something without a shred of proof which in rare cases was understandable as they were learning of something from a trusted friend or loved one.?
?
¡°It was never my intention to cause offense. I am merely more accustomed to the reactions had by most who witness something like what you did.¡± As a rule people tended to react one of two ways¡utter denial or sheer terror. Perhaps she hadn't been wrong to believe he could at the very least be trusted even if he never asked to be turned.?
?
¡°We lost one brother who fell victim to werewolves while out with another of our brothers. Being a powerful witch desperate to protect her husband and children from death she found an old spell that made us vampires.¡± It was an existence that at times was both a blessing and a curse.?
?
She gave an amused smile at her brother¡¯s words. ¡°They most certainly are.¡± Witches were far too judgmental for her tastes and the bite of a werewolf had some rather nasty side effects.?
?
¡°Of course, you would think that.¡± Giving a quick eye roll when Kol seemed to favor the idea of working for a freak show. ¡°Though you forget a certain problem we all share¡Mikael.¡± No doubt he'd catch wind of whatever act her brother came up with or see his likeness if he became a ¡®main attraction¡¯ then he would be a rather dead one.?
?
Her focus returned to the human seated across from her. ¡°No trick, as long as we maintain a healthy diet of blood¡our bodies for the most part function quite normally.¡±?
?
It was a relief that he seemed to have little trouble accepting the reality of what she and her siblings were. She cast a sidelong glance toward Kol whose thoughts appeared to have gone back to the idea of freak shows. If he chose to do she very much doubted that Elijah or Klaus would ever let her hear the end of it.?

Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce
Katherine remained kneeling beside the dying woman despite the chaos that broke out around them. Keeping her wrist gently pressed against her lips until the wound healed repeating her actions a few more times to be sure that Mina would have enough of the vampire¡¯s blood in her system. Somewhere in the back of her mind she was aware that no choice had been made and perhaps shouldn't have continued but truthfully she'd been reluctant to let an innocent die like this.
?
She couldn't afford to dwell on all the ¡®what ifs¡¯ in that moment instead she was forced to begin plotting her next move. If not her reluctance to deal with the issues with her husband she would be making arrangements to carry the woman to Carfax Abbey, however, the most likely course of action would be for them both to seek shelter at the home of her descendants.
?
Slowly pulling her wrist away from the other woman's lips she took her hand offering what little comfort she could provide to someone who lay dying. ¡°It's going to be alright. You have nothing to fear.¡± Her brown eyes distractedly searched the crowd for a suitable minion for the time being to help with moving the body when the time came, not that she couldn't do so herself it would just raise far more questions.

Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)
¡°Indeed.¡± Valerie was admittedly curious to discover whether this man at least knew of the infamous huntress. Casting a quick glance to her companion then returning her focus to the good doctor. ¡°Her name is Rayna Cruz. If the stories I have heard are to be believed she doesn't die, at least not permanently, instead rises from the ashes like a phoenix.¡±
?
She had never witnessed this herself but had heard tell of it through vampires who found themselves in the woman's crosshairs. ¡°She carries a small sword that if one is marked with it doesn't heal and acts like a beacon leading her straight to them. Rayna keeps coming until she kills them. Some stories claim that the souls of her victims are trapped inside the Phoenix stone found in the hilt of her sword.¡±

Amara was quiet as the others spoke until something was said that seemed directed at her. Slowly drawing a breath as she prepared to answer his question with brown eyes briefly glancing downward at the boxes in her hands. ¡°I don't suppose that it is necessary so much as it provides me something to do with my hands. Suppose that I am still a bit anxious.¡±
?
She began looking around at the basement carefully studying all the candlelight was able to illuminate. ¡°I wish that I could find sanctuary from spirits but sadly they appear to be drawn to me like a moth to a flame.¡± Her shoulders relaxed a bit even though fingers still gripped the boxes.

Valerie supposed the other woman's desire to busy her hands was in part due to feeling ¡®out of place¡¯ in a strange new world but suspected given time that would change. Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
After telling Mary that what was happening in the master bedroom was in fact, none of their business, Pool had turned back to his work of clearing away the dishes and cleaning the counter. ?He was fortunate to have glanced back around just in time to see that Mary had left him, and was heading straight for the door of the bedroom. ?Mary? His tone was one of surprise, quickly turning to alarm as he stated emphatically, Mary no! Do, not¡ Go there! ?Come back here, Mary, he commanded; she whirled, heading back toward him at a brisk walk. ?What! Her answer was curt, and would likely be considered downright rude by most people of Victorian society; you won't tell me anything, so I must find out on my own and that is all there is to it, her explanation was equally sharp and brisk. ?How, pray tell, are we supposed to know what we are to prepare, how to decorate the house, or even if they are going to have the ceremony at the house? ?Pool placed a comforting, fatherly hand on her shoulder, and his tone matched his gesture, they will let us know, they will tell us how they wish things to be, but it certainly is not¡ For the likes of us to go poking our ears and noses around where they do not belong. ?Mary smirked at him, you speak so much rubbish, words fit for the dustbin indeed; do you think that I am not woman enough to know what goes on in secret between a woman and a man? ?Mary, I never said that, but you thought it, she retorted; no I certainly did not, he was beginning to become very highly annoyed, and I would trouble you to kindly remember not to put thoughts in my mind that are not there! ? Mary smiled sweetly, as her words dripped honeyed venom, why, Pool, someone has to put thoughts in that mind of yours, if for nothing else, but to stir the dust around a bit. ?He had stepped back from her a few paces, but now moved forward once more to place that same fatherly hand upon her shoulder, Mary¡ Pool began, but was interrupted, don't try to placate me, you think simply because I am young, I am also na?ve. ?Well then, she continued, perhaps I think that because you are older, your mind is gone. ?Pool gave a soft sigh, then continued, doing his best to make his tone sound calm, without sounding overly placating; Mary, please understand, I never meant that you were na?ve and did not know what goes on between a man and woman, you are young, but certainly not that¡ Young. ?So now you think me and old relic, such as yourself, she stated, her tone frosty. ?Pool emphatically shook his head, certainly not, I only meant that¡ I got the strong sense from lady Rena that¡ They want to be secluded for the evening. ?You mean, they want to be alone, Mary stated, and Pool nodded; that's what I said, isn't it? ?Well why didn't you say so before, she demanded, I tried, but you insisted on running off to listen in on their private disclosures at the bedroom door. ?Now see here, he continued, there really is no need for all this bickering, it is nought but foolish prattle; I merely meant to say that¡ The master and his lady will let us know the necessary particulars when the time comes, not a moment before. ?The doctor told you that? Mary now regarded ?him with interest, well¡ Not in so many words, but you and I both know the doctor well enough to know that he will let us know. ?It was Mary's turn to psi, I guess you're right, she reluctantly agreed, but I am so bloody tired of being left out of things, she admitted. ?We are never left out of anything we need to know, Pool replied to her in a patient tone, and the things we are not told, well then why trouble ourselves about them, they are useless details, meant for the minds of others to ?worry about, why worry oneself with worry that is not your own? ? he gave her a friendly pat on the back, come Mary, yet another long, laborious day is behind us, as is this slight altercation, lettuce retire to our beds, that we may be rested, and able once again to serve our master in the morning. ? Don't you mean our master and his lady? Pool nodded, but of course. Pool, Mary began with hesitation, I am, I'm sorry, it seems that when I don't put my ears and nose where they do not belong, my mouth goes there instead. ?Pool gave a soft chuckle and smiled warmly at her, think nothing of it, Now come, let us away to bed, for more work awaits us on the morrow.? ? ? ?

Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
"No," Rena said with a giggle, eyes curious and interested as she peered up at Henry, hands still spread across his delicious chest.
?
"I am not certain...as to the alchemy altering the shape of my brain...You have stumped me but I must admit to being curious indeed as to why you wonder. I fear the answer would be better coming from my mother were she only here...for she knows far more of such matters...I do not know that my brain is shaped differently, perhaps just more developed and heightened...aware."
?
She shrugged.
?
"The enhanced intelligence is definitely a result of the alchemy and chemistry involved, however."
"And yes Krueger is our real name."
?
Her expression became serious as she raised her small?hands to Henry's face, gazing deeply into his eyes.
?
"I swear, my darling Henry I won't lie to you even if the truth is disturbing. I have never lied to you and i never will. I don't believe that is the way to build a trusting strong relationship and we need to trust one another...now more than ever for I believe we are in danger. I...this is all so much to go into this night especially when our heads are not clear," she lamented, tone one of open frustration.
?
She returned his kiss, then clung to him, resting her head against his chest.?
"The cultural differences...are in part due to my being American, in part due to us being so rich that we can afford to be removed from a society that shunned my grandfather for being too different to fit into what they could consider palatable, and partly due to...well to...time," she said, knowing that he wouldn't understand that but later it may help for things to click.?
?
Henry was very intelligent and observant, making note of small details?even if he wasn't always aware of doing so at the time.
?
?
"As for how I know of your potion...Yes I owe you that explanation and plan to give it to you tomorrow when our heads are both clear. I could get into all of it tonight, but in doing so we would have to postpone those oh os necessary pleasures that we have both been craving from one another all evening. I never understood the obsessive sexual need my parents have for one another until you...I find myself wanting to do so many things to you and to put myself completely into your hands...and in so doing experience all of the delightful things that you can do to me. I promise you that my knowing about your potion, your work, none of my knowledge was obtained dishonestly and I mean nothing but good for you...I value you above all others, Henry I promise you that."
?
She sighed.
?
"Were any of the answers simple and brief I would give them to you right now. I am not trying to avoid telling you anything, merely telling you while we're both probably too drunk to focus...Because Henry...What I have to tell you...I will be completely honest in saying that until today I would have considered a large part of it to be impossible and unbelievable. This will make it even more difficult for me because the last thing I want is to be disbelieved or mistrusted by you...It...would be unbearable..."
?
Her arms tightened around him as she struggled against the panic that rose within her chest and stomach at the very thought.
?
"I am generally fearless but i fear much here...Please Henry don't leave me alone here and please...I don't expect you to be able to believe everything but I need you to work with me...You are all I have."
?
She really hadn't wanted to get into this...and it all seemed to be spinning out of control. They connected so well even here and now, and she hated being so frightened. Blast it all why had they gotten so drunk? Well she knew why, but now it didn't seem like such a wise idea.
She felt her entire body shaking as she clung to him, so kissed him once again to steady herself...and because she very much needed to do so. No matter the situation it was ever as if their 2 bodies acted as magnets.

Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
"Well, Rena dear, coloring was but? small measure of it. I was trying to account for the cultural differences as much as they could be accounted for, especially when combined with physical peculiarities that I vastly relish and yet understand to be extraordinary in the same breath. Yes, your grandfather's tale, unusual as it may be, certainly explains some things. How fascinating. Such an advance use of alchemy. In truth, I would not have considered anybody coming as close to my own discoveries as I have...how marvelous that your very nature partakes of the same principles that I would consider utilizing. So, in your case, does the alchemy alter the structure of the brain itself, or is it merely about the physical manifestation of the change, My curiosity is not completely idle, I assure you, there is a point to my interest you would understand later...or perhaps you already do.
?
Yes, my alchemy is entirely ingestible, but it surprises me that you are aware of that. I suppose, if your family deals in alchemy, it stands to reason that colleagues like us would be aware of one another, only I have never heard of the Kruegers previously. Is it because you are using the name lightly, to obscure your true origins? I have read of alchemists being so secretive who translate their surnames into foreign languages for emphasis of their classical upbringing as well as to protect their identity. That would surely explain a lot..." Henry Hyde slowly considered.
?
"No, perhaps I am beginning to understand your secrecy now and no longer insist on contacting your relatives directly. They may contact me as they will instead," Henry generously allowed.
?
"In the mean time, sharing does sound like a wondrous proposition, I shall eagerly accept," the good doctor agreed, leaning forward for a small kiss. |

Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
Pool had been telling Mary all about what had happened in the master bedroom, especially how Rena had dismissed him, with little more than a good night. I know that it is most difficult to believe of the good doctor, but I promise you Mary, as certain as the stars and heavens above, he just¡ Just sat there, and let her¡ Have her way! Mary had responded with more rolling of the eyes, her face ever increasing in paleness; but I say, good head butler, this is indeed a most rare and unfortunate occurrence, at least for us it is. Did they even say when the wedding is? Oh, Oh dear pool, we must get things in order, the house must be spotless, or are they having it here? ?The butler had rolled his eyes at Mary in return and shook his head, I actually do not know for certain, he had replied, his voice conveying slight annoyance at not knowing, all I know is that¡ He came in here, carrying her on his shoulder, as though she were quite infirmed and could not manage to walk. ?Then, when I entered the room to serve them the tea, she¡ Took the dishes from my hands, as if it were most fitting indeed for her to actually poor and serve the tea. ?Mary looked considering as she listened, did you say that she is from America? Pool slowly nodded, yes and that likely explains it, they do not know the proper way to serve, or to enjoy a good cup of tea. ?Mary gave a soft, pitying sigh, oh¡ So much more the pity ?for them, them in that country, I mean, she usually felt the urge to clarify what she was saying. ?And what exactly were you saying about¡ Not entirely about wedding plans? She pointed to the master bedroom. ?Pardon me, the butler replied, I truly should have kept that assertion to myself, you are a bit young to understand such finer points. Oh, come now pool, Mary exclaimed, Rolling her eyes in annoyance at him. ?Pools reply was virtually a run on sentence, Now see ? here dear Mary, I perceive that this is truly none of our business, and once again my most humble and sincerest apologies for not keeping it within the bounds and confines of my own thoughts; I think, he continued before she could interrupt, we should simply get to bed and forget this matter, or else leave it for another, more fitting time, until we know for certain what is occurring. ?I'll find out for myself then, Mary countered, and then, I will tell you that it is none of your¡ Business!???? Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
Rena chuckled when Henry asked if she was part native American. Glancing down t her skin with a slight blush, feeling self conscious about it for the first time she forced her gaze back up to Henry's.
?
"If you are referring to the coloring," she said lightly,"That is inherited from my Grandfather who is most probably Swiss or something...but his skin was exposed to a vast number of alchemical materials...a potion or two..."
?
She frowned in thought and rattled off a list of all the ingredients that Victor Frankenstein had used for his solutions...knowing she did not know them all not being nearly as fascinated by such as her parents were.
?
"II think that's only like a 3rd but to be honest I never really cared like that," she said, forgetting herself and slipping more into modern speech rather than her carefully cultivated Victorian tongue of the evening as it were.
?
"But that's what I can remember for now...perhaps it would mean something to you...I don't know."
?
She shrugged.
?
"Your methods of scientific exploration are fare more injestable than those to which my grand father was subjected, I think," she said, referring to the potion.
?
"And Grandmother adores you so were you able to get mail to her, she would be pleased to read it. She can get mail just fine...in fact we mail order a lot of products so we don't have to bother with shopping...It's just..." ?
She felt her gaze growing distant for a moment and shook her head slightly.
"Just she's so far away...But if we need to contact my family...if we truly heed to I'm sure we can arrange for something."
Her father? How old was he now? The idea was nearly funny in her intoxicated state. Would he believe her? Renfield did think rather out side of the box, but this shit wasn't even using cardboard. That thought made her want to laugh, so she smiled at Henry instead, then became pleasantly distracted by his next words.
?
"All about me? Well that sounds extremely...exciting...but I'm glad to have it about you as well...We can share..." She smiled again and allowed her hands to roam over that beautiful hard chest again, frowning at the garments as she studied how to remove them, silently thanking herself for being smart.
?
"Your body...truly takes the breath away," she told him honestly, feeling her eyes practically gluing themselves to his chest then face then chest again.

Initially Henry had to wonder if he'd said the wrong thing. He prepared apologies and condolences for the diseased grandmother, but smiled, almost in relief when Rena explained that the dear old lady was still about. "Well that is good to hear. I have almost come to expect the oddest surprises from you, so was not sure if my idea to write her, would go against your particular American customs somehow," Henry slowly admitted with a?smile that may seem mysterious to those watching him from the side.
?
"How strange though, I could privately joke about the wilderness you Americans have to tolerate, but did not suspect that would apply to your family. So, you are not mixed blood by any chance, one of the American Indian tribes? I don't have any prejudices against them but have to wonder. that could explain at least why your grandmother cannot be reached by mail. Not that it matters truly. As an amateur?scientist, I am simply used to unraveling mysteries. But you are right, tonight should be about us. In fact, it could be solely about you," Henry promised with a mischievous smile.? |

Re: No Place Like London (Oliver/Nadia)
"Well at least it's nothing to do with us,"Oliver said, including the dress as well as the bar maid in the sentiment, his gaze returning matter of factly to Nadia.
?
"Usually it's our kind?who draw the unwanted attention, so for once if it isn't to do with us, I am pleased."
?
He knew that other vampires would be more curious even if it had nothing to do with t hem and perhaps because of it. Other vampires gave a damn, though. They were bored and understandably so he supposed...Except little truly interested Oliver and he was all out of give a damn, and had been for some long time. Most things annoyed rather than interested.
?
The bar maid, for her part was doing her job and not even looking in his direction, so his mind wipe must have been successful. Good and done then.
?
Mind returning to Nadia and what she said of her family he shrugged thin shoulders, not changing expression.
?
"You and your story put me in mind of a bird with wings too small to fly. Stretch your wings, little bird and leave your family to their own concerns. Perhaps by the time you return from seeing all you wish to see, they will have it all sorted and you can be the current drama for actually running off and finding a mind of your own," he said with the slightest of smiles.
?
?
"For my part...I felt it too...much to be in these parts after my change, but that was some 6 centuries ago. I wandered and eventually returned...but eventually was the key. By then everything had changed so much that it was all...different enough to bare."
?
A rare admission, but she had admitted enough herself and his words still weren't all that personal for that. He didn't like speaking of his own situation much simply because he didn't like thinking about it. And the situations of others were usually far more interesting to them as well as to himself.
?
He noticed the bar maid glancing at him hastily then looking away as she rubbed at her wrist where he'd grabbed her. He wasn't certain if he liked that. Frowning he studied her only an instant before looking away not wishing to be caught noticing if she happened to be that observant.

Re: No Place Like London (Oliver/Nadia)
¡°With my father one never knows.¡± Nadia thought her father to be frustratingly distant these days which did little to help matters within the family. If her mother slipped away from them entirely then there would certainly be conflict between her siblings as sides would inevitably be taken. ¡°If that is the case it hardly changes things¡his methods are still doing far more harm.¡±
?
¡°There are a great many places that have caught my interest.¡± She desperately wanted to see everything and experience the wide range of cultures but there was always this seemingly unspoken rule that the family must remain close to one another. Maybe it was her father's fear that his enemies would come at him through his wife or children. Who could say?
?
Tipping her head as she watched in mild interest when her new ¡®friend¡¯, if one could call him that moved swiftly toward the barmaid. One eyebrow slowly lifted at the bit about such a short dress. Strange that out of everything else that had been the thing that stood out in her mind.?
?
Her eyes followed the frightened woman for several seconds, waging a silent debate over whether to have a more private conversation with the barmaid about her friends at another time. ¡°He has those he values and woe be to the one who harms them.¡± Any who knew her father knew better than to target his gypsies or anyone else that served him as he was quite fond of making examples out of them.
?
¡°Interesting indeed.¡± She thought it odd that any self respecting woman would venture out in what the vampire imagined to be little more than an undergarment if it managed to traumatize a barmaid to such an extent.

Completely unaware that the discussion taking place in the master bedroom was not at all concerning wedding plans, Pool had once more apprised Mary of what had happened. ?He had ended his explanation with¡ She just, comes in here and, takes over, sure she was kind enough, but¡ But they're not even married yet and, he made certain to murmur even more softly, just between the two of us Mary, I¡ I am not entirely sure the discussion in that bedroom is all concerning wedding plans, if you catch my meaning. ?As they spoke, he made certain to put out the fire, and remove the tea kettle, wipe off counters and any extra work that may have needed doing, before stating, I think it is perfectly in properly safe for us to retire for the evening.

Rena grinned, then chuckled when Henry complimented her skill in serving tea.
?
"Well it's pretty basic. Common sense...Only an idiot could ruin it entirely I suppose," she said before taking a small sip and deciding that indeed she was not an idiot even when very drunk.
?
Rena's expression became one of trepidation when Henry spoke of writing to her grandmother.
?
"While I know she would appreciate such a letter, I'm afraid that would be impossible."
?
One hand came down to tug uncomfortably at the hem of the dress which fell far above her knees.
?
"My grandmother is...far out of reach I am afraid..."
?
Rena felt the fear in another fresh sudden surge showing itself on her face as her gaze met Henry's.
?
"She's alive, it's nothing like that just...Look it's likely too much to go into tonight while we've both had far too much to drink for a heavy complicated conversation...Lets just say I feel deeply that we're both in for some trouble...Someone has a problem with us. I have no idea why. I could make a few guesses...but they would be only that. I am fearless as a rule and when it comes to this situation I am entirely frightened, concerned, all of that."
?
She placed her tea on a near by table, her movements careful, before approaching Henry. Reaching up, she placed both small hands on either side of his face and allowed herself just a moment to gaze into his eyes.
?
"I...I just want tonight to be about us before the shit hits the fan. I want to be your lady with no worries or cares...at least ignoring them for tonight there is truly nothing else to be done. Tomorrow we shall have much to speak of with clear heads. The speaking will not be pleasant, but I believe we can get through it together...Perhaps even with the eventual help of our new friends, which is one reason I wanted the dinner party, for we very well may need help and of a scientific nature, my dearest Henry."
?
She knew she looked and sounded as concerned as she felt but Rena wanted to be honest with Henry and never to give him reason for doubts. She and Jekyll never mistrusted one another and she wasn't about to go changing that in the past for any reason. Drawing his face down to hers she kissed him, conveying all the furver she felt as she leaned her body into his, savoring and relishing in his solid strength. Indeed they could do anything together, she knew it. They could face down any enemy, even if the things said enemy could do should be impossible, and in one another's arms they could find...something more intoxicating than spirits and far beyond words. Tonight, this was all there was and should be.

Henry Hyde had to admit, he was concerned about how the rest of his adventure would play out. Fortunately, despite seemingly oblivious to social conventions, much like himself, she managed to pull through. Her treatment of Poole was incredibly natural for the lady of the house and Hyde saw no reason to interfere thus far, only nodding his approval at the appropriate places, and entertaining a small smile when Lady Rena handled herself so surprisingly well. Over all he was pleased, even if drinking tea as proffered by Poole would have been less compromising, than accepting it from Rena herself.
?
But?Henry found?himself amused at her effort despite all of his inner protestations. "Well, you are doing it exquisitely well for your very first time," Henry complimented, mesmerized by Rena's motions, finding them both graceful and oddly gratifying.?
?
Gradually, all of his so?very rational?considerations drained away when Rena turned the conversation to her own cloths. "Yes, we certainly must. Remind me in the morning to send a fat letter to your grandmother. I shall introduce myself at first, then proceed to delineate all the ways in which I am thankful to her for your existence. Not to worry, I shall make a note of dedicating an entire paragraph to your cloths and how well I appreciate her choices of fashion on your behalf," Henry half jokingly reassured his, apparently, soon to be, fianc¨¦e. ? |

Along with the cubes of sugar on the tea tray, pool had been careful to also place a small picture of cream, in case one or both of them chose to have it in their T; he knew that Henry usually like his with a bit of cream, but was not sure about the lady Rena. ?He had chosen to bring the tea himself, rather than to have Mary bring it, since the couple had not met Mary yet. ?He returned Renas forced smile with a genuine one of his own, "your tea, Lady Rena, Master Henry¡ he had intended to place the tray on the bedside table, pour the tea, and serve it to them individually in the cups, so was more than a little surprised when Rena¡ Gracefully took the tea tray from him. Giving a moderate bow, he mildly protested, but¡ My Good lady Rena, I would have been most delighted to pour the tea for both of you and serve it to you in your cups. ?But her complement, and her assertion of how kind he was, served to placate him, and he gave only a humble nod, followed by another bow, I most humbly thank your ladyship, he told her. ?He looked even more surprised, and even a bit crest fallen, when she¡ Basically ordered him off to bed. Uh... Yes, my lady, he replied, looking at the Doctor. ?It was quite clear that Pool, was going to have to become accustomed to having a mistress in the house. ?He nodded when she told him they would not need anything else until morning, very good then, and might I ask what time¡ He had been about to inquire what time they would want their morning coffee and breakfast, but, Lady Rena had said good night, and close the door before he could ask his question. ?In a Voice only slightly more elevated than his usual conversational tone, he asserted from the outside of the door, right then, and a very pleasant night to the both of you. ? It might, or might not, be obvious to them from his voice outside the door that, he was¡ Just a little annoyed at having heard such a Kurt dismissal. ?He had done his best to keep the annoyance out of his tone, but he was far more accustomed to a more polite dismissal from the doctor, and he murmured as much to himself as he slowly walked away from the door. ?There is a proper way to do things, he murmured to himself, and master Henry would do well to instruct his new bride to be in the manners and customs of dealing with hired help in this country. ?She was kind enough, he continued, still murmuring his monologue, but, now how am I¡ Supposed to know what time in the morning they will require their coffee, and breakfast! ?He was grateful they would not hear of this, knowing that it was a little if any consequence, since by tomorrow, he would've had a good nights sleep, and he and Mary would be ready, and willing to serve again. ? He attributed his mild annoyance to the fact that¡ It had been a long day, plus he had been more than slightly worried when the doctor had not returned home at his usual time. ?On top of all of this, the master had brought in this new lady, who already insisted on being the sovereign mistress of the home before she was even his wife; it had all been¡ Disconcerting for Pool, to say the least, and to be so quickly and obviously dismissed as an unwanted nuisance, had been almost the last straw. ?To bed with me, she says, he murmured, very well¡ I suppose this entire affair will be sorted¡ In the morning. ?He had no way of knowing how correct he was in using the term, affair, for he¡ Believed they were only going to discuss their wedding plans.?? ?

Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
Rena had hoped that having Henry light lamps and such, dispelling the shadows in the darkened bedroom would serve to assuage her frustrated desire until the stupid tea could be brought and the annoying servants put to bed...in order for them to do the same. But the nights had only made it worse...She could see Henry in all his glory...That body...Though he looked different he was a fine figure of a man, and her time with him had taught her to appreciate such.
?
The fact he was a good doctor who knew his trade showed in his obvious good health and the fact he was so very well preserved for his age. Nearly forgetting herself she murmured something about wanting to see if he tasted differently pre-potion as her hands slid hungrily across his broad chest and lower...
?
When the knock came at the door, fittingly just as her curiosity was satisfied, Rena slowly rose from?her kneeling position?with a pleased smirk curving her lips. She moved toward the door, one hand drawing the long heavy cloak around her as she gave Henry time to adjust his pants. Opening the door she gave Pool a forced smile as she easily lifted the heavy tray from him.
?
?
"Very good. Quite kind of you. I am sure it is lovely. No to bed with you. We won't need a thing until morning. Good night then."
?
She closed the door with her free hand before taking the tray more firmly with both and placing it on the nearest table with a sigh and another small smirk.
?
"Well I suppose tea would be fitting now," she commented, studying the old fashioned tea service with some mild interest. Once more her mind marveled over the fact these would be considered antiques in her day and now...well they were the modern height of luxury, all shiny and new.
?
"I've never pored tea before," she said with a tiny amused grin as she proceeded to do so, only recalling at the last moment that she was very drunk and holding a hot pot of tea. The sobering thought slowed her down and she proceeded with caution.
?
"I mean I've had tea, just never served it. And we usually drink something else," she said with a shrug, dropping 2 cubes of sugar into hers and trying to remember how Jekyll liked his...2 and a splash of milk if she recalled properly. Making it pointedly without asking she passed the cup to Henry before holding hers carefully and settling down onto the bed, allowing the cloak to fall back and expose the dress with a resigned sigh. It was too difficult holding the cup of tea and worrying about it + it would be coming off soon enough anyway, and she'd have to deal.
?
"I can't wear this...obviously...not even a whore would wear this sort of dress here," she complained.
?
"We have my grandmother to thank for this..."
?
She scowled down at it and sighed, meaning her words entirely as she did everything that she said to him. She'd prefer pants but of course she'd not be able to get away with that here either.

Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
Pool had left his master and mistress to go and apprize Mary of all that had taken place. He had dutifully informed her of everything the doctor had just told him. ?His rather lengthy explanation had ended with, and so, strange and unexpected as it is, the doctor says that she is indeed not a patient, but his... Fianc¨¦. ?Therefore, he had continued, let us now prepare the tea, and serve it to them with all haste, so that they may continue discussion of their wedding plans. ? ?When the tea was ready, he had carried the tray to the bedroom door, gently knocked, and called, only loudly enough to be heard, my good master and mistress, your tea is ready, I humbly request leave to enter?

Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)
Rena couldn't help but stare around as they headed upstairs. Pool had assumed they wanted the tea in the bedroom, not a bad thing in itself, but being in there and controlling herself while the damned tea was readied would be another matter entirely. Though he did look very different pre-potion, he was still damn hot. Of course she'd not have noticed before making her decision to experience fleshly pleasures, but it had been the same in her time when he was...post potion as well. It wasn't personal, she merely never thought that way.
?
The place was nice...real Victorian, which for an entire house she'd never gotten to see in her day. And all the replicas were bullshit she noted. For an instant she was nearly breathless, fully able to appreciate the opportunity she'd been given by most likely an enemy to experience such a thing. To be in the past and to see it, to see it as though it were modern and new rather than in some museum, because right now it was.
?
Fleetingly she considered pinching herself again but she knew she was awake as impossible as this all seems.
?
"So...should we do the talking and explaining bit now while there is nothing else to do," she wondered, stiffening as dread washed over her again settling like a heavy ball in the pit of her stomach, making her feet heavy.
?
"Of course if you had other topics of conversation in mind I'm open," she told Henry with a quick sidelong smile.
"I mean if we've had too much to drink or whatever...surely we have, I am good."
?
And babbling too which wasn't like her. Rena firmly shut her mouth before more stupidity could image and tightened her grip on Henry, feeling once again grateful to be here with him for things could've gone far worse.

Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)
"It's hard to believe you'd actually show us this, Dr. Van Helsing...Your surely private and secret sanctum...Surely we are the first of our kind to be aware of such...I am truly and deeply honored," Klaus said quietly.
?
He spoke in all deepest sincerity. It took a great deal to surprise him but this had done so. The doctor was likely making an exchange of good faith. At least that was Klaus's first guess on the matter.
His discerning gaze had swept the room, returning to the scrolls with the most interest as he was not familiar enough with the other more technical items to put them?to any practical use.

Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)
The good doctor Van Helsing opened the aged but sturdy wooden door with a soft creak . . . a sound that surely only spoke of the door¡¯s age and not how little the house¡¯s master actually travelled down to the hidden parts below.? In fact, a very respectful amount of time was devoted to both common and uncommon scientific dalliances.? With his lit candle, he led the way, slowly but not hesitating.? He was not stalling.? He was not scared.? Just a hint of unclear anticipation.? Something about this meeting and their conversation thus far had hinted to him that there . . . was more that met the eyes, and ears, when it came to these three strangers in the night.? The most logical thing, however absurd the notion . . . dear Lord, was to see where this mysterious experience could be taken.
?
?
¡°There is another you to rival, say?? Bless me, do tell . . . if I might be so bold as to inquire?,¡± Helsing glanced back briefly, trying to phrase that most carefully, but in his defense the source of the comment just then had in fact given a vague clue of suggestion.? Had she only mentioned it to be purposefully cryptic?? He couldn¡¯t think so, considering how this had already developed.? ¡°If I understand you correctly, my dear, you¡¯ve found a sense of ease here, so that should make my question less of a burden I do hope.¡±? He did just then make out the two boxes.? ¡°Is it absolutely necessary that those parcels accompany you wherever you go?¡±? The good doctor did not, of course, wish to speak so bluntly that their appearance here ad now was plain awkward and too mysterious.
?
?
The stone steps came to an end and revealed a large room that, when all its corners and crevices were fully visible, covered a little less than half the ground floor space of the actual residence.? Thus it was obviously large.? Van Helsing offered a smile to the young woman who had just mentioned her simple hope.? He shook his head assuredly.? ¡°I wouldn¡¯t quite define this basement area as too enclosed,¡± Van Helsing lifted his candle out and above his head, more so for himself more than the others so that he could see his own vast array of items and properties. ?
?
?
?
¡°As you can see, plenty of room to move about, for whatever purpose you¡¯re after.? And certainly no spirits to pester any one of us . . . I have dwelled in these parts for many a year with no such disturbance.¡±? He stepped forward, taking a thin length of wood from a small pile nearby to borrow a flame from the candle, proceeded to light a few more in the near vicinity.? In doing this, he of course revealed tables.? Scrolls, texts, drawings, and then there was the large quantity of chemist-like displays.? Items of all sorts, many of them tools, hung from the walls, some from hooks dangling from the ceiling.? He¡¯d proudly ensured his laboratory was able to satisfy and assist him with all manner of needs and fancies, and exposing it was . . . dear Lord, but he saw no other way here.
