Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)
Valerie kept a close eye on her companion given some lingering concerns about how she might be handling the changes this world had undergone since her day. Plus there was also the matter of her not seeming entirely at ease with the situation itself perhaps due to the whisperings of the dead but who could really say one way or another with her being so silent.
¡°There is another whose reputation might well rival your own.¡± She said at the mention of ¡®his kind¡¯ as there was a small part of her that had become curious as to whether the hunter might be familiar with the woman who was so relentlessly hunting her family as it were.? ¡°With the shock this world must cause for someone in Amara¡¯s position¡it is perhaps for the best to remain in the company of one so gifted at putting others at ease.¡± Not to mention her concerns about bringing this woman around the others, in particular Julian whose flare for cruelty made him someone who quite honestly she would love to see on the wrong end of the sword belonging to one Rayna Cruz.? Amara cast a quick look around almost as though searching for something when the good doctor (as she preferred to think of him) suggested they continue this conversation elsewhere. It was difficult to say why this troubled her. Maybe an underlying suspicion or another reason entirely. But when the others moved to follow she carefully picked up the two boxes at her feet in order to walk with them so as to avoid being left alone in such an unfamiliar setting.? Valerie gently placed a reassuring hand on the arm of an obviously nervous brunette as she walked alongside her. There were likely no words to be offered from one experiencing doubts of her own. It was hard to tell whether the vampire hunter was leading them towards a place where he often dispatched their kind or merely an area where he might work on other¡hobbies. Amara found herself watching a bit distractedly as the candle was lit, an act that in itself was fairly simple yet something about the small flame stirred memories of the past. Briefly affording her a bit more confidence. She gave a small nod at both his words and to assure the other woman she would be alright. There was a moment when her gaze drifted to Klaus trusting that he could handle any tricks the hunter might possess. If not for her companions she might well be huddled in a corner somewhere. ¡°I will simply be happy if it's not a small enclosed space or filled with spirits.¡± |

Pool gave a deep bow; engage! Why my dear good master Doctor, please allow me to extend my most sincere and my deepest congratulations to you, and¡ To you as well, good lady Rena, he stated looking at both respectively as he spoke to them. Although you say that I have not done anything amiss, I feel I must apologize especially to you, lady Rena, for mistaking you for a patient, instead of¡ How does one say it, the future lady of this home. ?When Henry stated that they would be retiring to the bedroom after tea, pool nodded with understanding, your room is all prepared good master Doctor, I trust the two of you will find it satisfactory, and lady Rena, while I cannot say in truth that I have heard of your family, welcome, welcome to London, and to this household. ?I shall now go about assisting Mary in preparing your tea, so that it is done with the greatest of haste. ?Having dispensed with the proper pleasantries, he would await any reply from Henry or Rena, before giving another deep bow, and swirling away with the proper combination?of haste and Grace, to assist in preparing the tea for the master and his lady.? Re: No Place Like London (Victor/Henry/Rena/Leti)
Rena felt the cage bars of confinement clamping around her uncomfortably, no less for them being figurative. No wonder Jekyll hated it all so much. It was just rubbish. She felt her heart sinking a little as she wondered what he'd tell his butler about her. If he agreed that she was a patient, while amusing, she couldn't deny that it would hurt. That it would feel...wilting to her confidence and spirit. Jekyll would've simply told the man to bugger off or perhaps given him disturbing details of what they were about to do to one another...but Henry had not freed himself of should and what was proper to do...and the fear of consequences if such were not held to.
?
?
His story caused her to smile in relief and force a hopefully gracious or friendly nod to the butler before her gaze traveled back to Henry.?He'd not?only accepted her story for their friends at the?pub, he was using it with his own staff. It meant...It meant they would connect no matter what or when...and that realization?made her heart fly again. Her expression, as she regarded the doctor was openly full of honest love and adoration for anyone, Henry or his butler to plainly see. She wasn't putting on any show, her face was merely always telling by nature.?
"The journey was indeed stressful but now that I am with Henry none of that matters," she said warmly.
?
Tea would be nice, though, she decided upon a moment of reflection. It would sober them a bit which would only make other pleasures far more accessible and long term.

Re: No Place Like London (Victor/Henry/Rena/Leti)
Henry's mind has been centered on Rena but Poole opening the door has become the call of reality itself. It was that familiar voice, insisting that he should not be too hasty, that things always needed to be explain, and that he really should be careful about what he did next. "Ah yes, tea serve nicely, thank you, my good man. But allow me to introduce the lady in question to you. First, I shall preface my words with a reassurance that you did not do anything wrong Poole, you did not misstep yourself, because you had no way of knowing.
?
This is Lady Rena, of the American branch of Kruger family.?We have been in communication for?quite a while until her parents graciously accepted my proposal. Well, to make a long story properly short, we are finally engaged. Yes, I know it must come as a shock, but Lady Rena is my fianc¨¦e. She is of course a little indisposed right now, from the long journey?she has had to undertake. Sea sickness is the least of it, I am telling you.?The ships of today, they are no quite as they have been in our youth.
?
So we shall take some tea, and then, we will require some private time to discuss our wedding arrangements further. We shall retire to my bedroom so that my Lady Rena would get the needed rest. As you can tell, she is not truly at her best right now. Oh her father would be so cross with me for not taking better care of her, especially with me being a doctor.?At any rate, now that you are appraised of the situation, I know you will do your best to make Lady Rena feel right at home, dearest Poole, and instruct Mary to do the same..." Henry tiredly signed,?the effort of coming up with a plausible story while being still inebriated, thoroughly exhausting. ?? |

Pool had a strange feeling that he had unfortunately blundered into a situation that was, perhaps ?not quite something he was entirely accustomed to dealing with. ?His bewildered ?look wavered between the doctor, and Rena, resting comfortably in his arms, her hand resting against his cheek; He ?wondered to himself when the good doctor had started getting so personally involved with his patients. Perhaps, she was not a patient, but when had he ever known Henry to be romantically involved with anyone, he could not remember such a time. ?He gave Henry a questioning look, then inquired with hesitation, will that¡ Be satisfactory, sir?

Re: No Place Like London (Victor/Henry/Rena/Leti)
Rena smiled in incredulous shock at the Butler's unwanted appearance and thinking her a patient. Rather amusing, but logical as she didn't see Henry bringing ladies of the night here and she knew he never entertained anyone else lest he become stuck in an unwanted messy complicated marriage that would make things...uncomfortable to say the least. Her surprised shocked and amused smile slipped when the blasted man called for tea. Instead she gave a small incredulous chuckle.
?
She had been waiting all night to have off with Henry's clothes and have her needs satisfied...and now...tea?
?
She opened her mouth then closed it again, glancing at Henry and biting back another laugh. Best let him deal with his own servants...plus it would be more amusing that way. Smiling due to finding the entire thing as amusing as it was frustrating she lifted one hand to rest tenderly against Henry's cheek. She was here and supportive if he needed it, and silent if he didn't.

Re: No Place Like London (Victor/Henry/Rena/Leti)
Victor gave a friendly wave to Henry and Rina; one of a kind? Why, I humbly thank you, good sir, a very pleasant evening to the both of you, and I look forward to seeing you again. The ? pleasure is mutual, he replied, when Henry said that it had been a pleasure to make his acquaintance. He was not entirely sure that he himself was one-of-a-kind, but he knew that he could certainly make one of a kind creations. If they only knew¡ He thought to himself as he watched the doctor carrying Rena away. ?He sat quietly, trying to stay awake during the remainder of his trip home, and would likely say nothing, unless the driver said something to him first; once home, he thanked the driver, made his way into the house, took his anti-aging potion, and finally, at long last, fell into bed.
?
?
Pool, the properly dressed, properly acting Butler, was there in an instant when he saw the cab approaching; he had been waiting up, becoming more and more concerned as to why the doctor had not arrived home much sooner. ?He was at the door in an instant, and dutifully opened it, a very pleasant evening indeed to you, master¡ Doctor?? The expression matched the questioning tone in his voice when he saw Henry carrying Rena. ?I say, master Henry, I had absolutely no idea you were bringing home a patient! ?And indeed, wounded enough so as to need to be carried, I should say. ?Probably quite beside herself as well, pool thought to himself, as he noticed that she was laughing, indeed probably taken with some fever, so that she's... Quite mad. ?Mary, Mary! His voice was not nearly as loud, as it was authoritative; awake, the master is here! Make haste, and bring 2 cups of hot tea for him and his patient! ?There would be ample time for either Henry, or Rena, to put a stop to this action, and explain the truth,?should they choose to do so.? ? Re: No Place Like London (Victor/Henry/Rena/Leti)
Rena laughed merrily?at Henry's tiger antics, clinging to his arms as best she could as he held her aloft.Would other women find it normal to feel as safe as she did right now, she fleetingly wondered. If she wasn't specifically where she believed she was supposed to be right now, she was at least with who she felt she was supposed to be with now and always. No matter the time or place that would never change.
?
?
?
Idly she wondered if the door would be open or if Henry would have to fuss with a key which could mean having to put her down. Hopefully not for long. She knew they had a lot to speak of, necessary and worrisome and dangerous things but first she just needed to have her fill of him so that her mind was completely free of distractions and able to work things out to its full potential.
?
?
Right now, however, her mind was fixed on the very enjoyable act of showing Henry just much of a tiger he really was. She had the advantage of knowing all the things he liked for her to do and she planned to do them all. Tipsy she still may be but the drowsiness was completely gone and she felt like a live wire in his arms.

"A bigger tiger, that I like. Even if it only applies to my mental acuity, I would still take it, and let all lesser tigers beware," the good doctor happily chuckled.
?
Henry Hyde then smiled back at the driver and nodded his approval. "A good strong name that, I will remember it good man. At least you should hope I do, because I always pay more to those people I think I know," Henry replied with a sociable smile.
?
"A pity we must part," Henry spoke politely and perhaps a touch insincerely, for more than one reason. "It has been a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I trust you will not forget our mutual promises to meet again. You are one of a kind, Victor," he continued with equal dishonestly and not being able to come up with more efficient lies, settled for a friendly shrug.
?
With other duties pleasantly dispensed with, Henry decided to accept Rena's idea and eagerly held her, pretending to roar like a tiger as he carried her aloft.

"Good night,Victor, and thank you for...being so kind and friendly to a stranger,"Rena told him with a warm smile.
?
"And I can't wait to see you at our little dinner party. I don't have nearly enough friends...and I believe I have something of worth and interest to share scientifically."
?
Though very drunk she managed to articulate clearly as the driver jumped own and hurried around to slide open the carriage's side door for? Henry. When he got out Rena slid carefully to the edge of the seat, still keeping the long heavy velvet cloak tightly around her with one hand as best she could.Once it was tucked into place as best as it would be she leaned down and extended her arms to Henry with a smile.
?
"I do think I require assistance out of here at this point in my inebriation, but I must admit to having a fantasy of being carried inside and upstairs in your arms," she admitted honestly, giving him a wink.
?
It was dark but she had no trouble seeing him...save for the fact her vision was mildly blurry from drink. She hoped the servants were abed and wouldn't be awake to trouble them.

Victor had also paid his own fare, ?plus extra for a tip, since the couple would be getting home first, and the driver would have to drive extra to take him home. ?Catching the drivers name, he had given a smile and stated, here you are, good sir Harold, I live only a few streets down from them. He would be getting off ?last, unless of course the driver knew a shorter route. ?With a contented sigh, he had settled back into his own seat opposite the couple, and it was taking every bit of willpower he had simply to stay awake until he got home. ?He thought to himself that he needed to remain awake long enough to get safely inside his house, indulge in a small to moderate glass of his youth potion, undress, and get himself into bed. ?The potion was a concoction of various herbs and minerals, designed to promote restful sleep, increase energy, and promote anti-aging. ?He hoped that it would have a somewhat sobering effect on him, erasing some of the effects of his overindulgence of alcohol, which rarely if ever, happened. ?Much of it, no doubt, had been due to having people with whom to actually socialize, such was indeed a rare occurrence for the scientist. ?But if he were honest with himself, Victor would have to admit that some of his action this evening had been due to seeing the couple together, and wishing once more for his beloved Elizabeth. ?That thought, which of course reminded him that Elizabeth was gone, gave rise to even darker thoughts about his creation. ?I should have expected such petulance, he thought to himself, taking away what was mine, depriving me, simply because he was not allowed to have the same fortune. ?Didn't he realize, I was only trying to protect all of us, him included, Victor asked himself; ?who's to say that if I had made him a wife, she wouldn't have turned on¡ Him, just because I created her to be his wife, that doesn't mean it would have ?actually worked out for them. ?He casually looked out the window, watching to see exactly where it was that Reena and Henry would disembark, such information might be handy for the future, he decided. ?He occasionally glimpsed the couple with detached interest, feeling satisfied that at least, he had helped what had seemed to be a distressed young lady at the beginning of the evening. She certainly did not seem to be distressed¡ Now. ?When they reached the couples destination, Victor would wave to them congenially, and would wish them¡ A pleasant evening to the both of you. The driver grinned and bowed.
?
"Why thank ye, good Sir," he said sincerely, grumpy impatience quickly replaced with joviality in the face of the extra money and finally getting paid so they could move along.
?
"I supposin' a man can never have too many friends.?The name's Harold," he added.
?
Then with a chuckle,"And if I sees any bearded lady drivin, I'll tell er you sends greetins' he said with a wink before pocketing the money and springing up onto the box to start the horses going.
?
When the door slid closed Rena turned to Henry with a smile.
?
"Well I think you can subdue any tiger because, when it comes down to it, it will see you as the bigger tiger."
?
Her smile widened as she briefly placed the palm of her hand flat against his chest to indicate the tiger spirit he possessed.
"and I like it a lot."
?
She peered around at the interior of the handsome with mild interest. Quite different than the cabs she was used to but of course she was sober enough to keep that bit of informational sharing to herself.
?
The horses jerked into motion and Rena sighed, snuggling against Henry's shoulder as she struggled to keep her eyes open. The last thing she wanted to do when she finally got him alone was to sleep, after all.

"I am not so sure, not about any tiger at least," Henry retorted, privately considering the pressure from the inside that he at times likened to a crouching tiger, and was occasionally getting the better of him once more. He had been strong, he had resisted the temptation for so long, but with Rena unexpectedly turning up at the Black Bess, his days of resistance might have ended and the tiger was about to lunge. The worst part of it was that Henry did not mind being overcome by the proverbial tiger.
?
He squeezed Rena's hand back in a gesture of support. Startled by the driver's comment, Henry absently nodded, sat up, his fingers stopped when he found the right notes, and then reached for the coins. "Here's...more than you asked for, for your trouble. You may not know all the drivers, but I like too, and?tend to make good friends, at least as much as possible under the circumstances," Henry explained the gesture, moved by a strange fancy he could not even explain to himself.?

Victors thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Henry's proclamation of having actually seen an albino tiger; truly? His tone was incredulous, not that he did not believe the older man, but such was a rare sight indeed. ?I believe you, it's just that¡ Well, such is indeed rare to see, a ?wonder which one seldom if ever beholds in one's lifetime. ?Raw power, indeed, he glanced away, in hopes of hiding the haunted look in his eyes; only to glance back to them and state, one must indeed use great care when dealing with such raw power. ?He recall how that Frank had exhibited, and yes had indeed been the essence of, such raw power, so much so that it had seemed to Victor that his new creation had been a true extension of the very lightning he had used to draw the spirit into the body. ?He returned Rinas apologetic look with a small benevolent smile, musing to himself again how fortunate that Henry was to have her, but taking care not to say this out loud. ?His heart might have entertained an almost uncontrollable envy toward the older man, had he not truly believed that soon, he would be walking with his own¡ Rena, except that her¡ Name, would be Elizabeth. ?Or, if not that, who could say, her name might very well be¡ Leti? ?At this point, he could only wonder.

"You could tame any tiger," Rena told Henry, when he mentioned the white tiger he had seen.
?
Kissing him lightly to punctuate the words she settled in beside him when he lifted her into the carriage with a murmur of thanks.
?
"Ominous," Rena repeated in agreement, voice suddenly hushed with resurfacing fear.
?
Suddenly she reached for Henry's large hand, clutching it as her eyes met his in a fear she was unable to hide. It felt for an instant as though she clung to him for dear life. As was so easily the case she forgot everyone else around her, the setting itself narrowing down to a small pinpoint that was Henry. Her grip tightened yet more on his hand. as for this moment he was her lifeline more than ever. The only one she had in this strange to her time and place in which she wasn't even yet born and wouldn't be for a century and more.
?
?She sat on the carriage seat beside Henry, hand in his, not even seeing Victor on the seat across from them so frozen was her mind within her situation rather than her true location. Only when the driver spoke did she snap back to full awareness, hand still clinging to Henry's tightly.
?
"Well you just give me my fair and we'll be off. I don't know most of the other drivers I don't. I just does my job," the stocky middle aged man spoke up gruffly.
He knew the gentleman was drunk and didn't really care to hear his prattlings.
?
With one arm he gestured to
?
At mention of payment, Rena forced her grip to relax, freeing Henry's hand to reach for his money purse though doing so was very difficult. She shifted closer on the seat so that her thigh touched his, and her arm rested against his larger muscular one. She drew comfort from his presence and focused silently on that, giving Victor a shy apologetic look as her gaze finally focused on him in the light of the carriage headlamps.

Henry happily complied and lifted Rena as she'd requested. He had done so many things out of habit but this?action took conscious thought, one that gave him several pleasurable sensations.
?
"It might have been at that. I always suspected that John was secretly Joan, but the other driver never confessed to that and instead had some war stories not dissimilar to my own butler's, having to do with the Boors. They don't let women into the army still, do they? A pleasant fellow, or a girl either way. I trusted him/her it, whichever your predecessor really was," Henry chuckled, happy that?the conversation took on a pleasant turn and di not require much effort on his part.
?
"A bearded lady, the elephant man, I have seen both and found them most fascinating, but I must admit to my curiosity peaking the most when attending upon an albino tiger. Now that was a sight to see. He was merely resting, presumably between snacks, but what a marvelous sight. I am not certain if you can appreciate it as much as the more obvious display that is the bearded lady. The tiger looked so majestic, like raw power waiting to spring to life. Forgive me, old man, I must be truly drunk. I am just used to exchanging such stories with my acquaintance John, or Joan, if your theory of the bearded lady with a low voice is correct," Henry found himself smirking, while leaning backwards on the comfortably cushioned back support.
?
"Fortunate , yes. Ominous, and fortunate," Dr Hyde slightly frowned, trying to mask his sudden concern with a cheerful smile back at Rena.

Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce
Mina didn't hear Katherine's words, but her mouth was already open, causing some of the blood to enter. She was not refusing as much as unaware...She saw fleeting images...A John's face...A face she loved but was not in love with. She did not regret not marrying him in the least, but she regretted not being able to say farewell. And Lucy...Lucy would blame herself for separating in the crowd rather than blaming Mina for running off as she should...Lucy...If the pain had not been so vast and if she wasn't weakening so rapidly, she could cry for Lucy...for losing Lucy, for it not being Lucy here with her at the end.
?
?
And then people were screaming, trampling one another in their rush to get out...The blood must be spreading if someone had finally noticed...What had happened...But that was just it. What had happened? Mina felt fleetingly sad and frustrated that she would never have the answer to that question. A pity as it had cost her her life.
?
?
Shouting, a strong voice belonging to the stout matronly owner of the place if she remembered correctly...but no one seemed to be paying any mind. Cool night air blowing in made her shiver along with the blood loss as her eyes closed..
?
Then another face, a strange face flickered before her...one that perhaps should have seemed frightening save for?the gentle eyes...Fleeted before her causing her lips to part as she drew in a breath to call out...But the image was only in her mind. She wanted to lift a hand to touch the bearded cheek...but it was not real, or at least it wasn't really here now.
?
?
//Help me,// she wanted to call out, not even fully knowing why, but she couldn't even do that. Her mouth moved, but no words escaped. Oddly enough the face under the mask seemed to have a similar shape to the one she envisioned now...but why would he have killed her? Likely the confusion of a dying brain, part of her intellect noted in dry amusement.OOC,? Not sure who she's seeing, just could be used later and gives her a way to get more blood in. She is bleeding out fast. Poor Katherine. LOL.

Re: Life in London
Ben frowned in slight offense when Rebecca spoke of his query of floor board tricks denial.
?
"Or rather not playing the fool and falling for every thing without harder proof. I shall not be one of those fools who believes anything presented to them...That would be the opposite of denial, too much of a need for something..."
?
He shrugged, now not being the time to delve into the philosophy of he mind.
?
"As you have provided further proof...Though, I have no theory to counter it...Just how...how is such a thing possible," he asked, stunned wonder creeping back over his face.
?
He did rise and poke at the floor boards, taking his seat again quickly enough when he saw nothing a miss. Of course were it a good trick it would be well hidden but there was no way to trick such cuts and healing. At least none that he knew of.
?
When Rebecca announced in response to his question that witches and werewolves were also real he gave a short laugh...Hysterical? Not exactly but...it was a lot to take in. He blinked several times.
?
"Witches and werewolves," he said slowly.
?
"Both pains in the ass,"Kol muttered with an eye roll.
?
He grinned at his sister's suggestion of working for a freak show.
?
"You know...That's actually not a half bad idea, Sis..."
?
He sank back in the chair, seriously considering the benefits. Travel, lots of ready food, the travel allowing easy escapes if anything...went amiss. And...just something interesting to do. He got bored, and if he were traveling in such a show, he'd be far enough away from Klaus to avoid being coffined at least for a time the next time their eldest brother was feeling...protective and kindly.
?
?
?
Ben just sat in thought of his own, processing and pondering all the things Rebecca had told him. The things vampires could do seemed fascinating, but the drinking blood bit seemed...nasty...then again if it was a craving...
?
"Wait...You were eating tonight. Or was that some sort of trick?"
?
Odd the things the mind went back to. After discovering that vampires existed, not to leave out the witches and werewolves, he was wondering about the food? Well why not? Wasn't it as good a thing to wonder as anything else?
?
"There are rabbits, fish, birds, lions...so many animals on this planet. Some strange ones and most of them as unlike the others to be complete aliens from another planet when you think about it, so considering that why am I even surprised," he said, surprising himself somewhat by speaking the thought aloud.
?
"Good point. Interesting way to think about it," Kol mused.
"As varied as freaks in a freak show..." He concluded, clearly indicating to what topic his mind had just returned.

¡°I believe that response is what one would call¡denial.¡± Rebekah said of theories about so-called ¡®floorboard tricks¡¯ though she supposed it were possible someone claiming themselves to be a magician might well make use of a trick like that. ¡°But if you wish to check the floorboards then by all means have at.¡±
?
She watched in silence giving him the time to work through her little revelation while being prepared to act at a moments notice should the need to compel him arise. ¡°And the next thing I know you will be running off to join one of those ¡®freak shows¡¯ as their star attraction.¡± Her gaze flicking over at her brother as those words were spoken at his comment about his slitting his own throat.
?
Tipping her head to the side as her focus returned to Ben, giving his question some thought before providing a response. ¡°Witches and werewolves are also quite real.¡± He was handling the news rather well, almost surprisingly so. At his mention of the odd little man whom they had parted company with earlier in the evening she glanced to her brother.
?
¡°We can erase or alter memories¡use a form of mind control that we call compulsion to get others to do as we wish. The blood of a vampire can heal an injured person though if they were to die with it in their system then they will wake in transition which can only be completed by drinking human blood. If the person doesn't then eventually they die again¡for good this time.¡±
?
She would share more if he chose to be turned but for the time being only select bits of information were going to be revealed. ¡°My siblings and I are the first of our kind though there are other breeds of vampires out there.
