Re: Late night lab work: (tag, Elizabeth)

Elizabeth accepted Victor's agreement with a pleased yawn. It has been a tiresome day but she was over it now. His question made her think though. Her first instinct was to accept the potion from him, because it could not hurt and would ensure proper sleep. Yet she learned so many new things today. About herself and what she could do, her great purpose, About her Victor probably lying to her, much as she'd suspected. She has learned to control herself, and overcome seemingly strong physical opposition. It would might undermine her sense of accomplishment if she started relying on the potion. Especially if there were nefarious ingredients in it. Previously none of it mattered, it seemed like the only solution. But now...
?
"You know, my dear, I will try?to sleep without the potion now. I feel fairly,?well, at least more confident than I was. I think if I keep it up, with my confidence level, I could scare away the nightmares. Fight off the squeezing hands, and ignore the?dark voices of the abyss. I think I will just try to sleep and see if I can. If I cannot, I will gladly take you up on your offer," Elizabeth thoughtfully decided, trying not to look too eager, too confident, lest it drew undue suspicion.
?
"You may hold me, but I doubt I shall be able to perform my wifely duties. I am so exhausted," Elizabeth?explained with?a very convincing?yawn. She figured that some limited physical contact may be in order, if she were to play her part right. That would?make a good practice, especially since she took care to protect herself from anything too disturbing. ??

Victor smiled to hear Elizabeth¡¯s answer, grateful to whatever higher power, Fate, luck, whatever, had brought about this change in his wife.
I am most glad and reassured to hear that you are feeling better, he told her, his tone sincere; sometimes, it helps just to talk with a good friend, and I do believe the lotions are helping you. You are right I am sure, he replied when she suggested that he invest his talents in lotions. Seeing as how they have helped you so much, and if I continue to see such in the future, that will be very much a valid consideration of mine to do so.

His expression was one of incredulity when she settle down up on their bed. Do you still need that sleeping potion of which we spoke earlier, he asked. ?he considered offering to make love to her, but perhaps she might not be quite ready for that yet, he decided, after all, it had been a long day, they had run?quite the emotional gamut, from simply talking and discussing, to arguing, and even striking at each other, or rather, she had struck?at him. So perhaps, he thought, the lovemaking could wait for a while. He?made his way to the opposite side of the bed, and lay down beside her, being careful not to get too close, so as not to crowd her.

God loves you.

It could have been more difficult to pretend being the same na?ve girl if she didn't have a purpose to guide her. She may have been uncertain about many things still, including the mystery of this Captain Dance, and the strange dread of her being eradicated by him, but she did have that inspiration from Keres. An idea that something grater was there for her. That if she did it well enough and did not get caught, she would live to see the thrill in all of it. That, further she could contribute to great changes in the world. Perhaps be officially acknowledged by the organization, even that Captain Dance fellow. It was all relevant for the future of course.
?
But it inspired her to patiently pursue her goals. Which at this point implied reassuring Victor. Until she was ready to proceed and do otherwise. "Yes, my dear," Elizabeth softly responded, delighted that her tone sounded as casual as she had imagined it while practicing it in her head. No more sugary sweet, nor more intense hostility. She didn't need any of it. Was above all of it now, at least for the moment.
?
"Me and my good friend Keres had a jolly little chat. I feel less at odds now than I did.?Her lotion?probably helped matters. I put it on my skin, and it began feeling less monstrous by the moment. You should really invest your prodigious talents into lotions, Victor. I am telling you, they are the future for they would be so popular with the ladies," Elizabeth conversationally declared. "But yes, I certainly feel better now," she concluded, considered a smile, discarded it as unnecessarily fake and instead simply settled down onto his, theirs bed. ?????

Victor was still in bed; he heard something that sounded like someone coming through the door, and awoke?slowly. This did not sit well with him, for there was a time not so long ago, when he would have awakened much more quickly, being very much startled by the entrance of someone. But now, he found it was harder for him to wake up, he was so very tired, and just wanted to keep sleeping.

Idly he wondered to himself, are?my potions doing for me what they should? They¡¯ve always worked before but, is it time to change to something new, something different? He listened, someone was in the house, of course it could be the servants, it could be an intruder, but then he remembered, had it all been a dream yesterday, or had he actually brought his beloved Elizabeth back to life? It had been real, he reassured himself, as he slowly stood, and made his way toward the sound.

Once he was a bit closer, he called in a voice only slightly more elevated than his conversational one, Elizabeth?? Is that you, Love?

God loves you.

"I really don't want to displease him at that," Elizabeth agreed with some hesitation. "Perhaps if I am introduced to him, he would understand me better and not be displeased? Unless of course I am not worthy of meeting him in person yet? Is he the leader over even you, Keres? Would he be observing my assignment personally? Do you think he really could find me unworthy? Well, I am not as well trained as some, but I intend to prove myself. Only, it would take time, that is all," Elizabeth uncertainly reassured and realized that her own words indeed supplied the reassurance she needed.
?
Elizabeth was not?entirely pleased with the?mention of bones however, an?unnerving image beginning to flood her mind. They did not seem to treat the idea as seriously as she would have perhaps,?so perhaps the dread on an indestructible skeleton was unfounded. But truly, one could not put anything past a barely understood organization that seemingly involved more than one creature with supernatural powers.
?
The young woman found the sound of a slamming door to be a pleasing distraction from her dark fears and darker memories of?her time in the Beyond. Idly noticing that the man did not seem to be?physically imposing, Elizabeth?had to wonder about his considerable mental powers. He would have to possess those to be worthy of a power like Keres.
?
Elizabeth left still engaged in a kind of stunned contemplation. The worry of displeasing the mysterious Captain Dance plaguing her mind and almost?making her lose the confidence. Fortunately the transformation in her did take place regardless of her emotions. Her skills kicked in when an unexpected robber accosted her on her way. Once she would have chided herself for choosing the barely lit alley that could lead to poorer neighborhoods, but now she was a different woman and relished the challenge.?Of course?only a few hours earlier she would have delivered a fatal blow in response to an unprovoked attack.
?
Now, since her heart was not fully in it, she settled on a half hearted blow. That knocked a tooth out of the man's mouth?and knocked the man himself to the ground. But did not kill him. "Perhaps, next time," Elizabeth spoke out loud, wondering if the man felt as reassured as she started feeling again.?Despite some confusion, some uncertainty and the implied threat of Captain Dance, Elizabeth felt fairly well about herself when she came back to Victor's house.????

"Oh you don't want to displease Capin' Dance,"Cylas told Elisabeth.
?
"He's a sweet heart and loyal to the bone,"Keres said, chuckling at some obviously private joke.
?
"Get it, Cylas...to the bone?"
?
A door slammed somewhere in the house.
?
"Ah that would be my husband, Keres said happily.
?
A small man young of feature with white blond hair wandered in.
?
"I think Ive lost time gain. Such a sin," he complained and sighed.
?
Keres stared for a moment thoughtfully then shrugged. "Oh I'm sure it's fine, Darling."
Turning to Elisabeth she said,"I'll show you out."
?
She walked her to the door and bade her to return for a visit soon and..."Enjoy the cream."
?
She shut the door as soon as the other woman had gone through it.
I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed.
I get along with the voices inside of my head.
