Locked Re: No Place Like London (Oliver/Nadia/Mircea)

Oliver gave a short laugh, relief flickering in her expression when he mentioned thee hunters.

"I thought I had become too reclusive if I lived unaware of a danger right here amongst us. But if it's only the hunters I am well guarded against such in my slumber and when I am awake,I remain wise and so out of their sight. They do not bother me and until I get the opportunity I shall not bother them."
?

For of course if he could take down a hunter of their kind, of course he would. Would not any of them do so? He wondered idly if he should share the fact that a vampire had recently crossed Helsing's path, confessed what she was and survived, but he couldn't. Were it anyone but Natari he would have, but the girl was bored and careless and he would not see her at risk for it. He sighed and instead said,"Helsing...I hear is more complex than straight forward. It comes from him being a man of learning I think."

He hadn't yet decided what to do with the fact he knew where the man lived either, but perhaps Nadia did as well. He tried not to stiffen at the other's approach. 2 of Dracula's children in one place could make one feel a little edgy, unless of course they were on ones side. He hadn't decided about that, though. Generally Oliver kept to himself and was honest enough with himself to know it was likely better that way for he had nearly forgotten how to interact for more than 5 minutes at a time even with those he liked.

As the siblings spoke he found his mind returning to the bar maid. She hadn't remembered his questions. Her mind could not withstand his compulsion, but she had been intelligent enough to wonder about the bruise he had accidentally left on her wrist. So not mentally special but overly intelligent perhaps which could be bothersome. A thinker among mortals could be interesting or dangerous depending. For now, though, she would be useful to get to the other two and those he did want to question.

For his part, Mercia took a graceful seat, his expression not changing when his sister mentally referred to their mother. He was concerned, and this would be addressed, of course, as soon as they were alone. Instead of responding to this, however, when he touched her mind it was with light amusement. //Who is the boy friend,// he mocked.
?
?
?
?
His sister had far better taste than this ravaged man who had the look of a former noble fallen ill before falling vampire.
?
?
?
?
Connections were never bad, though, so he gave the man a polite smile, opting to openly notice him at last.
?
?
?
?
?
"So kind of you to keep my sister company, good Sir. I am Mercia Dracul."
?
?
?
?
Oliver merely nodded, politely not overly impressed.
?
?
?
?
?
"Oliver," he returned.
?
?
?
?
"We were merely people watching together."
?
?
Mercia nodded silently, deciding to respect the man for not groveling as many did. Respect rather than anger as though this Oliver didn't grovel he was not disrespectful or brash, obviously indicating that he knew who he was dealing with. Mercia was uncertain of the amount of years that separated them but Oliver was obviously older. Due to their father's blood, Mercia and Nadia were still stronger, and they all knew it. So this one could live for now so long as his behavior continued to be pleasing. He was no toady yet knew his place. The sort Mercia didn't mind having his back in a fight or as?extra eyes and ears.?This decided, Mercia's mind was free to return to more pressing matters, the most being his mother. She was obviously well or Nadia would be more upset, so what was it? Curious he looked to his sister.
?
?
"I've still not decided where I shall be staying while in town, but I don't think it will be at home. I have grown to need my privacy even more. Perhaps it comes from traveling alone save for?servants. At any rate I?still need to seek a place out.? Perhaps you can accompany me so that we may catch up, Sister."
?
?
Then she could?speak freely and he would be caught up on family affairs, for?he was ever, efficient.?I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed.
I get along with the voices inside of my head.
